Browntoa, I've noticed quite a few of these threads suddenly reappearing. Where on earth do people find them? And why don't the posters realise the old dates on them? Weird.1

I've heard if you put the clothes in a tumble dryer it gets the tissue off. I've not tried it though.0

Weird.I was just thinking the same thing. 2nd old thread in a few days. I do recall years ago doing a google search for something and it brought up an older thread on MSE which was way out of date.ETA I actually replied to the unused body lotion one the day before yesterday. Someone pointed out the thread was 11 years old! My suggestion of donating it to a foodbank wouldn't have worked , well beyond it's use by date!polly

Lets face it, a tissue in the wash or unused body lotion is something all of us can relate to and is hardly time sensitive - does it really matter when the thread was started? I'm not having a pop at either of you BTW - just making a general observation.
I have only recently returned to this forum after a gap of quite a few years (I used to be on here virtually every day!) and have found it to be nothing like it used to be. Back then you could log on and find dozens of recipes, tips and moneysaving ideas posted every single day. Now, sadly, they are few and far between, so the occasional "bumped" old thread can still produce some gems."Men are generally more careful of the breed(ing) of their horses and dogs than of their children" - William Penn 1644-1718

I think you're right. Things began to change on the old forum and much more on this new one. I think some aspects of life have changed. Many often time poor posters often pick up ready meals etc. There are still many cooking from scratch as I learned in my childhood but I think for many they're tryng to keep too many balls in the air. Things now seem a lot more demanding than when I was a young mum. Those looking for recipies etc I often refer to the Monthly Grocery Challenge at the top of page one on OS.The large collection many of which were collected by dear Squeaky over the years and with contributions from so many like Twink, Gingham Ribbon etc are there with ongoing additions as Veggie,Vegan, GF etc became a norm. Lots of budget recipies , advce on planning and moneysaving.Anyway welcome back. We've lost a lot of old friends, many of whom struggled to adjust to the new Vanilla platform and they are much missed.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
