Seriously i rarely make excuses and never do for jobs, cannot get one word out without coughing for a good while - i am one of the "real" jobhunters, i have no reason not to be.

The only thing i can seriously hope is that the rest of the people applying aren't very good, although according to the ad they are taking on many members of staff so luckily it isn't just one job thankfully. Dont think i would get any sympathy its an agency who are taking on staff on behalf of the call centre.

I am definately calling tomorrow whether i am better or not - maybe one day with a vow of silence will work wonders. Cant say as i am enjoying it too much though!!

I have tried some lozenges a while ago when i had tonsilitis all they do for me is numb my tongue lol.

I normally do really good at telephone interviews i dont think i had had a single one where i didn't at least get an interview from it just never had one when i cant talk for coughing lol, i would pop to the pharmacy but sadly i live in a small town where everything seems to just shut at 5pm (well except pubs and takeaways).

Thank you will definately go to the pharmacy and see if there is one i haven't tried tomorrow morning.

Try purpose-made voice sweets like Vocalzone or Nigroids if your pharmacist stocks them. When I was in a choir, the sopranos would pass them around before the difficult pieces and they really helped. (Caution: they ming.)

Do they sell them in supermarkets? There is a supermarket open (pharmacy closes at 4.45pm), dont care about smelling lol they cant tell through the phone, just would like to be able to talk.

I'm not sure! I've only ever got them from pharmacies before but a large supermarket might stock them.
