i'm pleased to report that I haven't used the tumble dryer this week:T the small things make a big difference when you add them all together.

ooo i've just remembered i've got to go and check my BT account as for some reason they have taken £10 more than usual this month.... i'll be back to report findings!

hmmm. well looks like we've been paying too little for a while so now need to pay more. Good job we don't use the phone much so although it's £10 more it's only £30 a month now, but £20 was better! I think we probably should pay £25 a month so one we've paid off the small balance owed hopefully they'll put the dd back down.

Looking at my online account is depressing <<sigh>>

I'm planning on some more ebaying pretty soon to hopefully bring in a few quid.

A few cheap weekends need to be planned... but cheap doesn't have to mean dull and boring so bring it on!!

so, with cheap weekends in mind, i've been thinking about how to use my Tesco clubcard vouchers in the most efficient way so that we can get some good days out with them. I'm thinking of getting English Heritage membership with them. I could get most of it paid with the vouchers, it would cost £17 extra but that could allow us to have a lot of lovely days out that don't cost much more. I'm thinking picnics and fresh air.

I think i'll see if anyone I know has joined and see if they think it's worth it.
  • woo hoo I just found a cheque that my uncle sent me for christmas but had buried in a pile of papers:o I'll bank it asap and then send the whole lot to my Next account:j

Had a nice chilled day today, not sure kids appreciated it much but nevermind! Went to kids club at the cinema (£5 for 2 adults and 2 kids) took own food so bargain. Then came home and played on the Kinect, cooked dinner(well dh did) now getting kids ready to go to bed.

I've got work to do tonight whilst watching Dancing on Ice <<sigh>> oh well. Then more work tomorrow whilst ds is at pre-school.

But I have had an email saying i'm getting a bit of a payrise for my 2nd job, not much but something so that's nice. And it's a term time only job but I have said it really doesn't stop for the holidays so i've been asked to say how many hours I do in the hols so I can get paid for those too. Result!

On a seperate note I wonder what this year's budget will bring. More doom and gloom no doubt. Although I am looking forward to the increase in personal allowance in April, this should give me slightly more money a month, to quote Tesco 'every little helps':rotfl:
  • woo hoo small success came in the post yesterday in the form of a letter re my NI contributions. It appears I am too late for the first year that I wanted to reclaim <<boo>> but I will be getting a repayment for the ones made for last year :T whish were around £90:T:T That cheque will come in the next few weeks. Can't quite understand why they are so tight on the previous year but I had known they would say that, was trying my luck really!
  • ooooooooooo just did something radical and I need to write it down.

I have applied for a Balance transfer card, at dh's insitagtion, and will have to wait for a decision, but if we are given enough to transfer the whole bal it is free (after the fee) for 18 months. I had a rough plan to pay off before June 2012 so this would be possible with no interest. PLEASE KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED FOR ME

I have also, now bare with this, applied for another card in my name only, which has 0% on purchases for 13 months. I have been approved and it has a very low limit (£750) the idea being that if the first card is approved and has a limit to transfer all the money owing, then we can cut up the original car and the bal trf one and have my new one for emergencies only. And the added bonus of no interest for 13 months. Then once the bal trf card is paid off (or before if poss but probably not) save up enough of a 'just in case' fund so that we don't need the emergency card.

    What do you think?

    Mad or sensible?

I can always cancel the 2nd card I applied for as that can be done with the first few weeks.
  • apologies for instagtion awful spelling! instigation

Hope you get approved with a good limit, I got approved recently but only got a £500 limit how am I supposed to BT £20K to that LOL
    MARCH 2016 DEBT £25750/ £25035
EST DFD JAN 2021 (that needs to change)
NOW JAN 2019 (that still needs to change)
  • me too. If not then we'll plod along as we are <<sigh>> I am hopeful as apart from the one cc we have and our mortgage, and a Next account we don't have any other credit. But our only cc is up to near the limit so that may go against us. Just depends what mood they're in I suppose.

I slept well last night, wonder if that's to do with having finally got on with the making a decision? Feels nice this morning but I just want to know now <<impatient alert>>

I am also getting impatient waiting to find out if I will get extra hours at work once ds starts school, hopefully in the next few weeks I'll know but I can't stand waiting! all indications are positive but....

    ARGH!! :rotfl:
