Fabulous news on the vino tally....keep cutting those units...it makes a massive difference & you will be thinking clearer& more positively too.

Also - the alcohol thingy - while I have not been TT ...this is the first full week I haven;t binged on any one night...max is 500ml wine = 7 units tops...and I have only imbibed two evenigns this week.
So from a routine 70 units a week (10 per day ) over the last 6 months; it's now down to 15 units a week (which in the first week is pretty damn good.)...and reducing down to 7 units per week is planned for this coming week
I am deffo feeling much better, more in control, and now have laid the foundations to push me forwards to achieving even better 'fings.....
Hi Wol, glad to see that things are looking so good for you and well done on all the achievments you have undertaken in the last few months!
You go girl!!!! remember our old song? "things can only get better" well I think we will have to change that one now to "the only way is up"!!! :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T

Hiya Wolski! Well, this is a good looking post
I'm really glad to hear you're getting things under control, whether its the paperwork, the alcohol, or the piggies' willies :eek:
In all seriousness, well done for cutting down so drastically on the alcohol - an 80% reduction from where you were, already achieved with 70 down to 15 .... and more to come. Lovely :kisses3:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Well done Wol, your liver will love you for it!One life - your life - live it!0

Morning
Lovely to see you all on this bright sunny day...
Saturday was meant to be sunny and in fact it was really grey and dark.......:(....so I read a book, cleaned out the piggies and did some more wading through flood emails and also had natters with a certain simian and a friend of mine who I am doing some work with.
Sunday was lovely and sunny, and because no dew had fallen the grass remained only 50% wet (now the sun is lower in the sky the trees block out most of it hence we are NOW heading towards "the very soggy garden months"). So I had to make a choice between the garden or free ebay listing..:think::think:......no surprises then that I went out in the garden to mow all the lawns....including the upper ones....having cut a load of grass by hand first for the piggies:). This year the council started to mow the upper lawns (they should do it but haven;t for years) however clearly they;ve now run out of money so hopefully this is the last cut that will need doing by me before spring next year. Then I decided to weed/hack/tidy some of the beds....after all there should be another free ebay listing next month but sunny days are harder to come by in november
Today it is back to preparing the final response for the Ombudsman ..and the rest of the week is doing the one for the solicitor. I am really hating this and it feels like a mahoosive weight around my neck.....and i know that the sooner I get this done the sooner I can move on. In the old days i would have just sat at the PC until it was finished...but my brain can only manage small chunks at at time these days..... so it really is dragging a bit:o
And on that note I must toddle off for a shower and then get on with the submission.....

Hi Wol - I think its healthier to do bits at a time, in all honesty - you might feel you need to get it done in one go, or even that you *should*, but you're trying to get healthier as well as debt free, and its health thats more important.
Talk about healthy. I'm all lurgified at the moment .... hope you've escaped *that* at least2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
getting it done in chunks is still getting it done and giving you a break inbetween so all good.0
-
Hugs to you KC - thankfully I am not lurgified...(yet :cool:)
Plodding on with submission tongiht and nearly finished. Have done all the factual legal stuff and am now dong the concluding emotional plea to the FOS......and its cetainly got me emotional
I have tallied up the true cost to me of the flood over the last 3 years - it;s frightening :eek:
I am £150k CASH out of pocket plus an additional £125k devaluation of the houseprice (a.k.a. my pension) :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
I am only seeking to recover a small proportion of these total costs from the Insurance company....and have now got the FSA wanting to investigate..... in view of the fact that my complaint for breach of contract is being dismissed by both Insruers and FOS as "consequential losses that are excluded under the policy terms and conditions".
Yeah right - so what you're saying Mr Insurance company (and Mr Financial Ombudsman Service) is that Insurance company can take my money every year but not give a crap (and even provide negligent service)...but unlike any other business they are not in breach of contract and therefore damages cannot be claimed...:doh::doh:
Hmmmmmm..........and I'm the dalai llama....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
This is now not just about me...this is about lobbying nationally for a change in the way these types of household claims are currently conducted/administered by the Insurers and their loss adjusters...:mad::mad:...and the tactics employed by said insurers to evade their legal responsibilities :eek:
I feel a campaign coming on :cool::cool:
