Child moneysaving board ?

My thoughts on this?...
Wouldn't it be more effective that if Martin did feel that this idea is worth pursuing (esp with his emphasis on teaching kids about money etc) perhaps his next venture could be a moneysavingexpert kids site, with its own articles on money, games etc and then its own forum. Of course such a forum would be, just for kids and would have the appropriate mechanisms in place for that kind of audience.
I'm sure many of you are aware on how this site is financed, i think there would be very little scope of providing links to kids and thus the only way of financing it is to have it depending on this main site.
What i dont think is appropriate is if this site started to encourage children to visit these boards where there is not only the risk of grooming etc but also some kids may feel that they want to explore more of the boards, and before you know it you have kids testing out gambling loopholes with their mums credit cards and stoozing in their dads name. We should accept that on the whole this is an adult site and i for one would like to keep it that way!0 -
I think this would be a great idea but agree that in practice it might not work.
Here is my suggestion:
Juniors can only join as an affliated member linked to an adult membership (it seems most of the junior members are the offspring of MSE'rs anyway). Maybe only regular members, ie those with 2 stars or something.
Only the juniors themselves and the affliated adult can post on/ read the dedicated junior board.
That way, any funny business and the adult membership will be terminated along with that of the junior member.
Maybe it could be moderated by the parents themselves.
Just a suggestion, I'm not a parent, just seems a shame that a few nutters spoil it for the rest of us.Saving for an early retirement!0
