So I gather from reading reviews.0 -
I don't know what it is, but all the Pumas and Tigras I see in my area are all total scrap heaps with dents and all sorts. Is it because they are mainly hoofed by the ladies?

Mine isn't a total scrap heap. It has no dents, but it does have a few very minor scratches caused by stones mainly. The interior is immaculate too.
It's just old now & things are starting to go wrong & I have to decide whether it's worth getting the reapirs done or getting a younger model (as they say).0 -
Have been looking at another thread & the Mazda MX5 seems a popular choice. What I can't understand is the difference in price from seller to seller for the same spec car.
Am I missing something?0 -
whats up with the puma?? as you could sell the the engine plus all associated bits and bobs for about 400 on the fiesta owners clubs maybe more for low mileages..Sealed pot challenger # 10
1v100 £15/3000 -

Its not as bad as its made out to be! One of my pet hates people bringing that up straight away.
If the car is WELL looked after then there should be no HG problem at all, if there has been and the HG replaced properly then it should be good for the rest of the life of the car.
On the subject of the MX5, the older versions are kinda on the cusp of classic status and some sellers have realised this and the price inflated slightly. I have to admit that I was thinking of getting one actually.....Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0 -
Rather than take it to bits, I'd rather part ex it. Looks like I'll get about £600 for it.
There's a miryad of issues with it. The problems ain't particulary serious, but the labour is going to be high. There's a potential gearbox issue, the clutch is leaking, brake pipes/pads needing renewing & a couple of other jobs.0 -
Tell ya what, with a potentially flucked gearbox I'd jump at getting £600 for it....Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0

Sorry, but it's a well known weak point on that engine, why shouldn't it be mentioned?0 -
Yes, it is a weak point. I dont dispute that. However it is made out to be worse situation than it really is. Its gotten to the point "Oh, its an MG Rover, it must have head gasket problems" which is very much unfair
Oh well, keeps them cheap for me
