Is the person selling this house a bit short sighted?

I think you can be as 'creative' and off the wall as you like with a house if you aren't closely linked to others. If you are, then you should show them some consideration.
Of course, some folks put their personal freedom above everything else, including other people's......and they dont like 'rules,' such as building regs, either.
I suppose if they fell down those stairs it would be pretty cool too. Yay!:rotfl:0 -
I think balls to their consideration it's my house I'll do what I like, if I have blue paint on the outside and the neighbours have white and it offends them they should grow up. Maybe their lack of taste offends me?0

I think, each to their own, to be honest. It is only paint, easily enough changed.
I went to view a house recently that Barbara Cartland would have been proud of, flowery paper, patterned carpets, sofas, cushions, flouncy blinds, ornaments everywhere.
Not my taste but obviously the seller's taste. She might not like mine.0 -
Looks like the cast of Balamory has paid a visit for an 'art' lesson, but decor wouldn't put me off a house. I've seen some monstrosities in the last few weeks, but you have to look beyond that, which i can! As Whitesatin said, the vendor of that property probably thinks my tastes are very dull!0
