Amazing Laptop Deal at Comet
Comments

the original quoted spec. when i looked on the linked canadian and US sites seemed to work out at approx. £450 ....so don't see this as being such a bargain ...maybe best to emphasise that you aren't getting an £800 laptop for £400 and judge the machine on its own merits compared to other available laptops0

Yes i think this is true i believe the laptop is just at the right price rather than being an amazing bargain."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
He will kill your cat and nail him to the door"

Checked Dell & a few other sites & no one seems to be able to come within £100 with the same spec as this model even with the new updated spec on comets website today.
So if anyone knows better let us know as there seems to be a lot of people knocking this laptop but no-one seems to have mentioned any other laptop & price to beat it or even match it.

Have a look at https://www.hotukdeals.com today - there is a HP and a Dell laptop specified. Not particularly better or cheaper - but an alternative!Cheers,

I was the OP on this one (I buy a lot of laptops) and will be leaving my order open for delivery on the 28th. However I needed another machine this week and the best deal I could come up with for next-day delivery was this one at Laptops Direct.
It's only a Sempron but the 1GB RAM should compensate for that and it's got a good disk. Remember that AMD procesors do much more per GHz than Intel ones so should not be compared on speed alone. I'd say it's suitable for anything bar hardcore gaming an video editing. Lots of storage for pictures and MP3s though.
As I type this I'm getting a call that it's just been delivered. Not bad as it was ordered yesterday afternoon. Can I help?0 -
rdwarr-as you buy them all the time you kinow what you are doing-I don't.
This one looks good to me-I just called them re the screen-I use mainly excel-and is used by someone with a visual impairment. Don't really want to spend more than this but could I get a better screen for excel by spending a little more? is 17in worth it? or just heavier to cart about0 -
17in screens tend to come on heavier machines. I normally use one for work but that is because I have a lot of windows open at the same time.
A 15.4" one should be fine and you'll be able to adjust the resolution (Zoom) in Excel to whatever's easiest. Can I help?0 -
Anyone know what battery time is standard and what the best time is?
I have seen a few laptops with only 1.5 hours, that surely has to be one at the bottom of battery life for a laptop - anyone know what is standard and what's best?0
