Off to get the sticky

Hi there! This is the Old Style Daily Thread for Monday 9th August 2010. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
[*]As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
[*]When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
[*]Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just fine.

Morning all
Lashing down here, which is good for the garden & TBH I'm a sort of 'There is no such thing as bad weather just the wrong clothes' person so I don't mind the wet weather. Also I got 3 loads of washing done & dried on the line yesterday in the sun.
Hubby's had his cooked breakfast been dropped at the station with his packup along with a workmate we saw trudging through the rain going in the same direction.
DW not on yet as it's not full & I have no washing to do, I need to sweep the floors downstairs as everything else is ok, mind you I don't have very high standards!
I've made around half a dozen button bracelets, I'll post pics on my blog later & I may have a go at making some sock monkeys today, that's if I can find any old socks other than hubby's black ones. I need to go to the butchers for a pack of bacon today as it is cheaper there, so I may see if there are any socks in the charity shop next door.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Hello folks, havent really posted on here before but have been a bit of a lurker!!!! The weather has brightened up here - at the moment - although its a wee bit chilly this morning. Decided to get up early and strip the beds, and get the washing done while we are on the cheap electric tariff so the washing machine is just spinning now, no3 load will be going on shortly. We are living out of the cupboards and freezer this week so have got the base of a trifle made for pudding and the potato wedges prepared for tea time.
Have really to get focussed on Moneysaving as I have gone overbored and everything is coming home to roost as they say, along with major investments to be made in the near future, I wish I could learn my lesson - when I have got spare money it is not compulsory to spend it!!!! Since its a lovely morning I will walk to work which is only about 20 mins into town, so will save a wee bit on diesel. I really need to look for a new autumn jacket which means I would walk more often, as the jacket I have is quite old and it has seen better days, but if I use the car I dont need a jacket!!! not much logic but there you are! Hopefully I will get the chance to post on here everyday if you dont mind as its really supportive, whereas if you speak about moneysaving at work some people look at you as if you have two heads and maybe dont understand that even though you are a manager and on a higher wage finances can be tight for everyone.
Well thats the washing machine finished so will go and hang out the washing and get next load on!!
    Have a good day ,
    Suz

    Morning all,

Tipping with rain here, the garden will love it, mind you even when it rains I still have to water my tomatoes in hanging baskets, they get so dry. Sistercas, my tomatoes are still a lovely green too :D, although I did pick, french beans, peas, runners and one corgette yesterday, which the others had for dinner, I tasted a bit of each and they were delsih :T

This morning I need to hoover downstairs, and get dd to do upstairs, will then mop the floors, hopefully we will be off to the pictures this afternoon to see Toy Story, I need to pop into Mr T on the way home for a lettuce and 1/2 cue, determined to get this last 6lb off :(

Yesterday I mowed the lawn back and front, and strimmed the edges of the back, was going to do the front today but that can wait, I also did the top coat on the wood in the spareroom, and the lovely young builder from over the road helped by removing his shirt, and showing off his 6 pack, made it a much more enjoyable experience :D;)

Will not do a wash today as its too wet, something with leftover chicken for dinner, might do them a chow mein, I will have salad.

Hope you all have good days, off to look at Hesters bracelets xx

    morning!

2 days off for me:j work are altering our shift patterns soon(we dont want this though:mad:) so I will be working less hours but more shifts - meaning more petrol expenses and less time off although I do love my job and am more than grateful to have one.

Today I'm taking Louie to the vets for his first jabs - he's growing and changing really quickly - he does seem to like fruit, my strawberries and last night blackberries from the hedgerow:D DH is doing really well training him and he comes when we whistle and walks well on the lead:T
I've hoovered through so far, washing in WM a wet load of my bedding is on the line from last night(poured after I'd hung it out)
kitchen floor mopped and also bathroom. Ironing to do later. I'm making quorn sweet and sour for my tea with noodles and the others are having a roast dinner.

    welcome to suzybloo! :hello:

hope you all have a great day x

Well it lashed it down with rain last night. Back guttering was overflowing but we keep having problems with it getting blocked so need to clear that out asap. Was glad though as it saved me watering the garden :o

Need to get some housework done today (after we come back from the walk) as I didn't do any yesterday :o

Not sure about tea tonight, might having something with oven chips.
