hi, I didn't do the switch through moneysupermarket but direct with Halifax...the incentive didn't appear in my account 2 months after switching, but I just popped into the branch and queried it, and they paid it in straight away, no problems at all.

Can you send them online message via the account log-in?

It states online that you cannot email about specific accounts. Have looked at letter which states they will write again after 45 days, which hopefully they will class as switch over complete. Looking at the t and c's as above it then says a month after completion for £50 that will be 3 months salary and 3 lots of direct debits. At least the fiver a month works well.
  • I called for an update, I was told the £50 will be credited to my account within one calendar month of the switching process completing. I opened the account mid July and was told my switching process completed over the past few days so sit tight and wait.

Thanks, hopefully wont be long now. Just seems strange that if you joined in the branch you were credited straight away. Patience is a virtue!

Does it need to include salary mandate or just using Transfer Service, wiith some DD, SO in it and not necesseraly include Salary.?

I have read this in other thread, could someone confirm about this please ??

I went into my local branch and opened an Ultimate Reward account and filled in the salary mandate and got £50 credited to my account straight away by the branch staff. It took about a month to get the DD's and SO's transferred over. it was a smooth process and I am happy with the account.

Rang Halifax today tried two different advisors who knew nothing about the incentive! Apparently they are now contacting head office and will get back to us. Will be surprised if it goes through though as their manager knew nothing about it as well.
Will probably write after this as getting a bit annoyed now.
  • im still watiing for mine as well, but my salary only just transfered over...so fingers crossed
  • Hi there,

As someone who works for Halifax I thought I would advise you of the following issues:
    • You need to transfer at least 2 DD's S.O's and B.P's etc..
    • You need to transfer your salary payments into the account.

Usually when an account is opened in branch or over the phone the funds are placed in there within 48 hours.
    • Have you all been given the account for sure?
    • Have you had to send further I.D details?
    • Have you had to send further details of all the DD's etc?
    • Have you funded the account with the usual "activating" payment of £100?

These could all be things that may be holding up the £50.

    Thanks.
