in graphics and other benchmark tests Samsung galaxy s is performing great over the present phones and some future release phones too!MyUserNamesTaken wrote: »I think your best bet is to go into a store and play with both phones (SGS and Desire) and see which one you like the most. Then look around online for a decent deal - like the one I posted earlier on. I will say that the Desire is probably better straight out of the box, but if you're willing to spend a bit of time optimising the SGS, it will wipe the floor with all other phones out there (including the Iphone 4). Oh, and Samsung has announced Froyo will be officially released for the SGS next month.

SGS beat the Iphone 4 in tests carried out by GSMArena, and that's on Eclair! It's going to fly with Froyo!
for example the SGS is on top of the pile for graphics processing on android 2.1 but after nexus 1 got froyo it beat the galaxy s in a few bench mark tests, so i guess the desire will be the same or better than the nexus 1 since the desire has got froyo too. but it is just a matter of time before the SGS gets froyo too and it will wipe the floor in those tests again.
infact in some of the benchmark tests of the processors the hummingbird ship did better than the iphone4 and a dual core 1.5ghz snapdragon htc phone is soon to be released probably quarter 4 2010. http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/Snapdragon-vs.-Hummingbird-vs.-OMAP---the-mobile-CPU-war-beyond-1GHz-article-a_12546.html
but the tegra 2 chips are supposed to be lower power consumption and good graphics as well. consumes 30% less power than a single core snap dragon!bubblesmoney :hello:0
