MortgageMamma wrote:Abbey are very good with new builds, and you will find they work at lightening speed compared to RBS. Hopefully it will work out this time round for you - Abbey are quite lenient on assessing past adverse credit, they are the sort of lender who are happy to overlook a few little blips on your credit report, but where an ongoing adverse history is evident they will decline.
Did your broker get you an agreement in principle with Abbey or just go straight in with the application?
not yet it was friday afternoon so tomorrow we might have some answers, fingers crossed. :rolleyes:0 -

Good luck giving them what they deserve!
At the time when I applied for my AIP, RBS were doing a 5-year fix at 4.99% which appeared to be a fantastic mortgage. As I, like you, knew I would be working to a deadline, my broker strongly advised me against RBS on the grounds that they are "notoriously slow on the uptake".
As it happens, the 4.99% deal was no longer available by the time I made a full application anyway. My application through Nationwide took all of three weeks.Operation Get in Shape

I don't know - have you paid your search fee's? You could call the solicitors up and ask if they work on a no completion no fee basis, as quite a lot doI am a Mortgage Adviser

As I've just posted on another thread, perhaps your solicitor works like mine - if the transaction does not complete they charge you at a certain rate per hour of the work they've done to date, up to a maximum of what they quoted you as a flat fee.
