Well done DNMS, you're really cracking on with your list now. At this rate you'll be finished before me and I started months ahead of you.Making magic with fabricLight travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0

:rotfl:lol stitchy! That made me chuckle. Lovely to have you behind mer, but several of the them are huge - brasil, saving to relocate these are long term plans. And am still struggling with getting a dog - do we want one, can we handle the responsibility?? Will definately hamper our lifestyle. After having the kids when I was a teenager I'm loving the freedom that has come with their growing ages :rotfl:DF as at 30/12/16

Wow ladies you are storming away with your lists!
I'm up to 22 now... And starting to see a few that I don't think I'll complete. Oh well, we'll see...
Just now I'm working on #41 - Make a Christmas pressie for each female family member.
Getting there:
Mum - scarf & hot water bottle cover
MIL - scarf?
Sis - cowl neck
SIL - cowl neck? Slipper socks?
Niece - cupcake jar - tried and tested last night0 -

Le escocesa, Jo asked me to make someting like this for her Christmas present. Can I ask you how you did it?Making magic with fabricLight travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0 -
Hey stitchy,
Do you mean the recipe for the cupcakes or how I did the jar...? I'm doing a chocolate cupcake mixture with chocolate chips and marshmallows. Layered all the ingredients by alternate colour...so flour/baking powder, cocoa powder, sugar, chocolate chips, marshmallows. Just poured it in one ingredient at a time and then got a spoon to smooth it out IYSWIM.
Then going to decorate the jar and attach a label with what needs adding (wet ingredients) and the cooking instructions... Going to attach a wooden spoon too perhaps.
I've seen a lot of blogs about baking cupcakes yourself and then putting them in the bottom of a jar and decorate like http://mycakies.blogspot.com/2010/03/diy-cupcake-in-jar.html but I don't think that's as much fun

That's brilliant! Yes, Jo wants me to do the dry ingredients but I was worried about how to add the marg/butter. It didn't occur to me that actually she would be doing that part.
Mr S has some cheapish silicon cake moulds that can go in the freezer. I had thought of doing a cake mix then freezing it in the mould before cooking. I would then take it out of the mould and put in a freezer bag and do another..and another etc. All she would need to do then is to put one in the mould and cook from frozen.
The problems I could see were not knowing how long a frozen mix would need to cook and also the fact that they would all defrost under the tree! :rotfl:
If you don't mind, I'll go with your method. (But I expect she'll read this and now know what I'm up to!)Making magic with fabricLight travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0
