When you get a quote, JS won't know if you are going through Quidco or not, so this magic £50 is because you have changed something in your quote, not because of Quidco.

I am sorry but I entered the same details in both, and what change might provoke a 40% price-change;using the house as a firework factory

I did my car insurance through swinton, went through all the comaprison websites and also the site direct and once I had found the best price, I then went through quidco and the price was the same.

from what i have found is always make sure ALL the details are the same as sometimes one little thing cna make a big difference to the price

Sound advice mate

Is this the best strategy£?
!.Get quote direct
2.Clear cookies
3.Go via quidco etc
4.If same price accept?

Isa it better to clear or leave cookies in place-I am confused and glad I do not have to answer my own question.

Well if you clear your cookies, you can be sure that they won't know it is the same PC. IMO clear the cookies.

Good morning,

I came across this. I don't normally post outside our normal thread but I just wanted to clarify a few things for you.

Firstly, ALWAYS clear cookies and temp internet files in browser history prior to logging in to Quidco and never use saved quotes.

As regards tracking, Quidco don't do the tracking - this is carried out by the affiliate networks used by the retailers.

Finally, I was alarmed to read about the dual pricing issue as this shouldn't be happening. If you find evidence of this, please send screen shots to me at juliewelld@quidco.com and I will be more than happy to investigate for you.

We want you to save by going through Quidco - the last thing we want is for you to end up paying more!

Kind regards,
Jules

Hi,

Just one more thing - MSE moderator, can we please have the title of this thread changed as we are not scammers and it's not appropriate or factual. Or should I report this to the abuse team?

Kind regards,

Surely you must be aware of the dual pricing by Insurers for Quidco and non quidco business as it is well known that a large proportion of Insurers do this. We continually give advice out to MSE members to get quotes with quidco and then direct from the Insurers after deleting cookies due to the differences in premium. It is not that unusual for the difference in the premium being more than the proposed cashback.

It is hard to believe this is the first time this issue has come to quidco's attention, given the number of posts on this topic, and advice regularly given about it.

In any case, the MSE top cashback site recommendation is for topcashback.

You say the last thing quidco wants is for us to end up paying more!

When we always pay more using Quidco! (Via your £5 annual deduction from cashback earned).

To say nothing of the quidco hard line over not paying up over the DGM issue (clearly quidco members will end up paying more over those transactions as quidco have said that despite telling members the money has been received, they now are refusing to pay up - unlike topcashback!)
