Comet do not recognize the sale of goods act..they are a crap bunch and if you buy something and it goes wrong the shop makes you go to the manufacturer even though you bought it from comic...real cowboys if you ask me...comic really do not give a toss on after sale service. It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
Well.....I WAS thinking of buying a cooker from this website, having already made a few unsuccessful bids on other cookers.
But after reading of all the problems people are having with Comet, I'm just not going to bother.
Thanks for all the information.0 -
I agree with all the negative comments regarding the comet auction site, this was my experience.
I purchased a used washer/drier on the auction site. This was not cheap for a used item. I assumed these were repaired returns but I was wrong. This had been sent to me without repair with only cosmetic faults described.
The faults:- It was very noisy on spin and the drier did not work at all.
I phoned the warranty line at 5p a min many times and got through to I believe the manufacturers repair service. They took a lot of convincing that it was eligible for repair, eventually accepting a copy of my credit card bill.
They subcontracted the job to a local repairer who opened it and found a large item loose and its movement had broken many parts making it a major repair. `The repairman left to order parts which should be 5 days.
The moral of this is, dont buy used items on the Comet Auction site, as they are not cheap and are likely to broken returns. You then have to use the warranty to get them fixed. After a month I still dont have a working washing machine and my wife is not a happy bunny!0
