I'm ok in cars but on any boat if there's a even a hint of a swell I get panicky and then start feeling sick. I thought I'd tried everything but someone suggested Kwells so I first tried them last year coming back from Cherbourg on the catamaran in a gale.

Quite a few of the seats were covered in plastic due to chunderings on the incoming boat, which got me rather worried. Also we were sat in the midst of a school party, half of whom were dashing past us to be sick out on deck and the rest photographing the people being sick on their phones. The bottles in the fridge in the bar kept smashing. If you'd told me beforehand that I would manage 4 hours (meant to be 3 but it had to go slow because of the storm) on a bouncy cat surrounded by barfing brats and not only not throw up myself but actually laugh at the whole thing I wouldn't have believed you. My partner was amazed.

I don't know how they work, but they seem to just make me not care any more so if your sickness includes anxiety about throwing up in public etc etc then they might be worth a go. Also worth a go if the anti histamine based ones don't work for you.

Can't remember if the old polo trick has been suggested: give child a polo mint and tell them to stick tip of tongue in hole and see how long they can make it last. As with the refreshers you can make a family game of it.

How best to deal with a long and probably rough ferry crossing for 4 hours? I am going in a couple of weeks and looked at a couple of advance weather forecasts and they are saying windy weather, and I really don't want to spend the time being sick :( I've got some sturgeron, would they be enough?
