Success rate?

Hi all.
Been on the competition bandwagon since July in hopes of adding, in one way or another, to a house saving fund.
By the end of July, ~100 competitions entered with 0% success rate (so far anyway)
Does anyone else work out their success rates? If so have you had more luck than me?
Cheers,
Coeus.

The only way to win....is to keep entering. The more comps. you enter the more chances you have of a win....simples.0

Its all luck, but in the scale of what some people on here enter 100 is a drop in the ocean!!
I've read more than once on here if you enter 4,000 comps you might win 1  on average for a biggish win!!
I've been comping since May, have not had any huge wins, so far but am happy with my little haul so far
Tetra Pond Light
WKD Glow Tag
Bic Soliel Razor
Cushelle Koala
Doritos Chips & Dips x9
Andrex Puppy Pal Pouch & Voucher
JJB Vouchers £90
T-Shirt
LCD TV/DVD Combi (school fayre raffle)
McCain Garden Games
Stabilo Handwriting Pens x2
Your not going to make fortunes from it but maybe get a few odds & ends that you wouldn't otherwise have and then if your really lucky something special!! Good Luck!!
...........of course you have to wait for the closing date too!!!:hello:0 -
on average I enter 50-60 comps per day and have been comping since January so that's about 10,000 so far this year .
I've had a few successes, mainly small wins, but my biggest was the Drench Pack of netbook, sat nav, itunes voucher, graze boxes and mag subscription. Some months I win more than others and some I haven't won anything at all so don't be disheartened that you haven't won anything yet.
Others enter over 100 per day and have better success, so I suppose a lot of it is down to sheer number of competitions entered as well as luck.
Let's hope the comping fairy comes your way soon and we all have a big win on the horizon!! :T0 -
Hope you're enjoying comping, it is a great hobby and everyone here is so lovely and such a friendly bunch
I remember someone saying that they averaged their wins at around 1 win per 450 competitions entered but that is usually a smaller win (book, nail varnish etc), big wins can be far and few between I have been comping for around 7 years and the big wins don't come that often, maybe once a year for me? Many of us enter around 4000 competitions a month and have a couple of wins.
I won a smartphone, a drench pack (netbook/£230 boots vouchers/£50 Itunes vouchers/3 months graze packs/1year heat subscription) and an ebook reader from competitions on packets such as mcvities/drench/mcains but not really anything big on the regular competitions on here.
Over the last couple of months there have been alot of new people joining the competitions board too, which may be why the last few months haven't been so fruitful for many of us. I wish you all the best, and hope you enjoy entering all the lovely competitions.Comping wishlist for 2017
1. Family holiday 2. Christmas presents :rudolf: 3. Fishing stuffThe more you put into life, the more you get out0 -
I seem to recall reading somewhere that the average is one win to every thousand comps entered?
There is also some discussion on this old thread - see kisto's post #27 for her winning ratios:

Hello!
I too am fairly new to comping (started at the end of june), I now enter between 70-100 per day (which is very small in comparison to others). I have done well, but from my very little experience, if you comp by end date if your going to win you'll get to know more quickly. Competitions such as tickets for gigs, cinema screenings etc, typically end a week or so before the event so you'll hear more quickly.
From what I understand (please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong everyone) actual 'physical goods' may just arrive in the post without notice and can take a number of weeks to arrive.
I look on it as a hobby I enjoy (I love the friendly people on the boards), but dont have a goal, it saves disappointment
Good luck I hope you get some wins very soon

Best wins: Currys wishlist, 3 Laptop's, a PS4 and an Espresso machine • fridge freezer • £100 M&S vouchers
46 wins totalling approx £3000 since September 2013.•* Thank you to everyone that posts competitions*•.:A0 -
Just had a quick calculation, I keep a spreadsheet of what I've won & value, but not number entered. I've done it on an average of 100 a day between Jan and now, minus May and half of June as I didn't comp then.
So, a couple of little statistics for you:
For every comp I enter I make about 27p in prizes.
For every 125 competitions entered I win one.
For every 97 competitions entered I get a single prize (because some wins consist of more than one item).
Bear in my mind this is mainly little prizes - DVDs, CDs, books, etc - The big wins I've had this year are a £100 cheque, £250 M&S vouchers, GPS gadget, Ipod and MotoGP VIP tickets.
The £/comp will really depend how many big wins you've had. You could barely enter any comps yet win a £5k holiday (I wish!) - so take my 27p with a pinch of salt!
If your talking about big wins (i.e £100+) then my wins go down to every 1 in 1922 comps entered is worth more than £100.
And if you take out tickets for events from that it's every 1 in 3460!2009 Wins = £833
2010 Wins = £6,597
2011 Wins = £7,083
£2,012 in 2012 = £450/£2,012
20 in 2012 = 4/200 -
