Nintendo WII pre order only £180

Has anyone got their Wii from Virgin? Pre-ordered mine in November, 8th on list and told they were getting 25. They only got 3 and haven't received anymore since!! The stupid thing is that it is the Manchester store, they were the first to have a Wii on display in the UK!!! Is it Nintendo or the Head office of the retailers that allocate stock?0

I didn't order from Virgin but I read somewhere on the internet that The Trafford Centre may be getting stock in tomorrow. I would assume Manchester would too?0 -
hey everyone. I just got a call off Currys to say that their stock was in now but my card was rejected. They gave me a number to ring them back on before 12 tomorrow. Only problem is...I've gone and not saved the number in my phone....damn.
Anybody got it?Monthly Food Budget: out of the window0 -
Woolworths should, well are banking on, getting around 4000 to SELL through stores from early next week, allocation wont go to all stores just the larger ones and the ones that sell alot of games.
Also, White DS consoles apparantly on there way to stores.
Worth checking with your local store monday/tuesday this week.
Hope this helps if you still need one!0 -

Nintendo Make the Consoles @ £82
Amazon et all sell at £179.99
So Amazon need their cut, Nintendo take their cut and someone in the middle will be paying for wearhousing transport etc..
If amazon look to make 30% Gross margin on the console that equals £54 , from that they have to pay staff for picking shipping etc, probably leaving them with a retiand profit nearer £25 per console.
This leaves 179.99-54-82 = £44 for getting the goods to the stores, transportation etc..
if we assume those transport costs/staff etc come to £20, that leaves Nintendo with a £25 profit per console.
Now with 1.3 million sold to date that is quite a nice number...
Don't forget that about 17-20% of the end price in the EU will be taxes,
Even so it is a nice chunk of change for Nintendo, even before they've sold any games/extras for it.0 -

It costs $160 (£82) to make so on a price tag of £179.99 they are making £97.99 per console.
It's a very good christmas for Nintendo then.
Not a very good article, in fact, its shockingly bad.....based purely on build cost v retail cost...hmm....surely the shippers/distributors and retailers will take their huge cut. Then Nintendo has to pay its advertisers and ist own development costs as well as paying the stipulated sub contractor costs.....id surprised if nintendo makes much at all on the consoles, not until certain targets are passed, costs are reduced, etcStevie Coppell's record breaking blue and white royal army - championship winners 2005-60 -
