I just called up woolies and they said its okay that it's still on awaiting security check and said I should recieve the item next tuesday or to give a call.

Fingers crossed the woman knew what she was talking about :)

Tuesday?? I thought all orders are going out on Monday? Did you pay for home delivery or choose store pick-up?

Home delivery, best to call them yourself on 0870 333 7111 if you have questions though. Now status has switched to Order placed with our suppliers
Your item has been submitted to our suppliers and we are awaiting a response. This may take between 15 minutes and 1 day. (Usually within 1 hour).

Thanks. That's the message I am getting. It says Monday 18th December for delivery on my account. I've checked my bank account and the money hasn't been taken yet.
  • Has anyone received their wii from Play yet?i'm still waiting to receive any news from them.As my order was on the 16th september and it's just saying AWAITING STOCK.

Phoned play.com - no more stock until after Christmas. I'm doubting they ever had any in the first place seeing as a) I ordered almost immediately they went on pre-order and b) I'm yet to find anyone else who has received one.

Not that it helps anyone actually get hold of a Wii but here is info on what Nintendo makes per console http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/multimedia/display/20061215092033.html

It costs $160 (£82) to make so on a price tag of £179.99 they are making £97.99 per console.

It's a very good christmas for Nintendo then.

That's not bad news - that's good. At least they actually did have some!

Has everyone that pre-ordered with Toys R Us all got theirs ok ?.

It would be pretty pointless if everyone queued knowing they had 50 stock say, but 40 were for pre-order customers.

Not quite, as there are at least two compaines in the loop, posibly three.

Nintendo Make the Consoles @ £82

Amazon et all sell at £179.99

So Amazon need their cut, Nintendo take their cut and someone in the middle will be paying for wearhousing transport etc..

If amazon look to make 30% Gross margin on the console that equals £54 , from that they have to pay staff for picking shipping etc, probably leaving them with a retiand profit nearer £25 per console.

This leaves 179.99-54-82 = £44 for getting the goods to the stores, transportation etc..

if we assume those transport costs/staff etc come to £20, that leaves Nintendo with a £25 profit per console.

Now with 1.3 million sold to date that is quite a nice number...
