The console will no doubt be half the price this time next year and next year the PS3 will be the must have toy.
I'm selling mine to buy my kids extra presents so some good has come out of the hype !
I'd rarther buy a £180 console than a £500+ console that the PS3 will be.
Yes the Wii isn't the best console in the world, but as mentioned it's the interaction that makes it fun, also it gives kids who would normally just get sore thumbs exercise which is always good for todays kids.
There are more important things in the world, but for once a year (twice inc birthdays), it's nice to spoil kids and give them what they want. Smile, you only get one life, LIVE IT.0 -
My kids will be getting their usual lump of coal this Christmas.Mr. Corleone is a man who insists on hearing bad news immediately0

It is lovely to give kids what they want, I remember falling into the hype with the teletubbies figures about 10 years, I never managed to get one prior to xmas -( but hey it never damaged my kids to wait. as for interactive, take the kids outside and play with them.
but hey each to their own and good luck everyone0 -

And the difficult thing is, nobody knows I've bought it, so I'm thinking should I keep it a complete suprise until Xmas day and not even tell my wife, or should I tell her so that she doesn't go and buy too much more for DD, given that I've just spent £200 on a Wii?0 -
Kids? What Kids? I want it for myself"There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children; one of these is roots, the other wings" - Hodding Carter

A serious gamer would tell you it's all about the games not the machine, I wonder if the person above had even tried the Wii.
I've bought a Wii rather than a 360 because there's a good chance that I'll be able to play games like never before. With the 360 and PS3 at the moment, it looks like I'd be playing the same games (with admittedly fantastic graphics) that I've been playing for the last 25 years.
Each to their own though.
Cheers
