Nintendo WII pre order only £180

I went into my local Comet yesterday morning and got a couple of accessories and said to myself "why not ask if they have any Wii in" so i did and low and behold he told me they had 3. So i said i'll take 2 please. So he did his thing on the computer and then we went to the til and i paid for the 2. While i was waiting for them to come out they told me that they was not suppose to sell them and that they were pre-orders. I said WHAT???? I asked why did your computers say you had 3 when you didnt have any to sell. They told me that their cpmputers are not set up to say if they are pre-orders or reserved. They then called in a manager which took him about 10 min to come to the front. When he got there he said that they have made a contract with me and they have to sell them to me and they he will have to phone the 2 people that had pre-ordered and tell them that they made a mistake and that they wouldn't be getting one. I bet someone is in some serious trouble at my local comet.

So did you still buy them even though you know someone had pre-ordered them possibly weeks back and they might have been someones Christmas present?

We should have a seperate thread for the Money Grabbing Barstewards :mad: makes me mad when I know so many people who want to actually play with one and make someones Christmas and then I read some of the posts on here.

I know Game were holding pre orders for 3 days.
Other retailers may be the same.. so for those still searching.. it might be worth phoning round to see if any pre orders haven't been collected.

Hi - I pre-ordered my wii from Game - and got it on launch day without any problems - there is no way I would sell mine on ebay!!

Anyway - I have a quick question to anyone who has a wii (and has not sold it!) - my cd slot does not really light up blue - it sometimes briefly flashes blue for a split second when I put a game in. Is this correct? I had the feeling it was going to be glowing blue the whole time!!

Sorry to be a bit off topic but would be greatful if someone could let me know.

I've not got mine yet but i've seen this answered elsewhere - it only glows blue whilst it is accessing the CD. hth

I'm sorry I don't believe that happened. They made a contract with you? What by saying they have 3 in stock? What rubbish.

Might sound like a strange place but 2 of my local Blockbuster stores had them in over the weekend, when I rang them they had sold the last one 10 minutes earlier.

It's another option anyway.
