    Hi Mrs S! :hello:

So when is the big DFD?

Hello! :D I haven't worked it out yet. Probably a year later than it would have been by the time I've finished buying a car  I'd say realistically the end of 2009 BUT if I got a bonus in January I could knock a few months off that. I'm paying off different amounts every month so it's so hard to say.

Woohoo! I've had a pretty good week. Last weekend I went blackberry picking and have got 1 1/2 ice cream cartons full in the freezer, also got a load of cooking apples and a rhubarb plant for free- yum!

I've been spending money but it was wisely at least... tons of cheap clothes for Thomas, the sales have been good this year. I didn't get much for myself but got plenty of shorts, t-shirts etc for my little man who is growing so fast now. And my treat this month- a pair of Fit Flops to get my legs nice and toned.

Only 1 day left in work and then I'm off for 2 weeks... 9 days of which will be spent in Scicily. Soooo excited.

Oh dear, it's been a while.

I've been a terrible DFWer recently, I need to confess to:

    1. A new car
    2. A new laptop
    3. NO progress on clearing my debts whatsoever
    4. Still overspending on groceries
    5. Have treated myself to some new clothes. MUCH needed but I do feel very guilty

On the plus side I suppose I'm no deeper in debt than I was and I'm doing lots of chutney making, home baking and batch cooking so I'm getting better. I think realistically it's going to be the end of 2009 when I finally shift all of this debt. I had hoped to do it before the recession started but looks like I've missed the boat!

  • Mrs S, if you've saved for it all then who cares. You're not a prisoner to your debt. :)

As long as you shopped around, got the best deal etc then don't feel guilty. Use the new lappy to MB and makes the money back. :D

SS I need to do some MB. Are there still good deals around or have they dried up a bit?

No there are loads still about. I started an October challenge but am gonna do another one next month aswell. Great way of keeping motivated.

I got out of the habit when I was without internet for couple of months but am back into it now. :)

Yeah, I gave up trying with my old laptop... it was soooo slow I'd have lost the will to live trying to keep 2 windows open plus the stake calculator.

Right, time to set a challenge I think... get some motivation back.

Well come next Saturday they'll be a new challenge in the lead up to Christmas so might be good to refresh the brain and join in then. :)
