Progress might feel slow but if its going in the right direction that's fab... and you're reaching milestones so you should be very proud, as Moozie says! :T

Everything you're doing now... even if it just feels like small steps... is making things better for you and the soon to be new member of the family :D

hey hunny, sorry i've not been in touch, december is a mental month for stuff to do! am down at my mum's in dundee this weekend for my aunts birthday, shortly about to start my third day of drinking with the family!!! the good news is i've only taken £30 (budgeted for) out of the bank so far and i've still got change!

your doing really well hunny and don't let bad times get to you, it can't always be amazing, and who cares for the odd shop in m&s, so long as it doesn't add to your debt then there is no reason you can't feel rich for a bit!

keep yer chin up and remember, every ting you do, now matter how little, is a step in the right direction!

tell little tom i said hi

Hey laydeez how are you all doing? Thanks for dropping in and don't worry, I know exactly what you mean. My days are manic in December and the evenings are heading the same way at the moment.

Thanks for the website Onespike- excellent site. I've got most things now but have bookmarked it just in case. I've bought loads of stuff second hand from eBay or from baby forums so it hasn't been as costly as I thought it would be. The expensive bit will be paying for childminder fees

You all take care and Lyns make sure you have a BIG drink for me x x x

What a month... the silly season hit us with a vengeance this month and it's been non-stop at work. I haven't even given my debts a second thought since the last time I posted which is good I suppose as I have enough stress at work.

I've applied for a promotion at work and had the interview this week but they can't let me know till January if I'm successful. Not feeling very positive about my interview effort but hey, at least I tried. It's payrise month in January anyway so if I don't get the promotion I should at least get a small increase next month which will be put to good use.

We've decided to have a very cheap Christmas this year so we're going to my mum's for Christmas day. Normally we have a massive day at ours and we end up spending a small fortune on food and drink. This year will be spent at my mum's so no food shopping for us- yippee! I've made Christmas cakes and have got all the ingredients for puddings & mince pies too so that will be my contribution to the day.

Hope everyone else is enjoying the run-up to Christmas and sticking to DFW ways as much as possible (it's so hard isn't it?). No prizes for guessing what my NY resolution will be... pay off this debt as quickly as possible!!!

Oooh, good luck on the promotion chance, will keep my fingers crossed for you!

A cheap Christmas sounds fab - its so hard to do isn't it - but having a good time without feeling guilty about the spending is the best feeling ever :D

I hope you're well Mrs S, I haven't been around much lately but I'm always reading your updates :)

  • Hey Kath (and anyone else who's reading!),

I didn't get the job I went for but they are creating a new role especially for me which will be a promotion- it's the deputy position to the one I went for. They have promised me a pay review in January :D and I will also have a large input into the job description for my new role so I'm happy with that (and only sulked a tiny bit about not getting the job I originally wanted.

To be honest I'm still pretty proud of being promoted at 33 weeks pregnant and I now have a real challenge and motivation for when I return from maternity leave.

Not much happening on the debt-clearing at the moment but have managed to get below £23K so it's all going in the right direction.

Hope everyone has a wonderful DFW Christmas :D

Congrats on getting promoted Mrs S! :T And especially whilst pregnant as you say... they obviously value you and want to give you something to return for after your maternity leave :D

Congrats too on getting below 23K - the right direction indeed... and at christmas time... you should be very proud! :T
