6 bottles of wine- I'm impressed! Now what can I complain to Egg about I wonder....?!!
As for the cake, I currently have Tesco value mixed dry fruit soaking in a huge bowl with brandy that was given to us by some friends who are leaving the country... it smells divine in the kitchen!Debt at highest May 2006: £27,472.24

Off to Tesco now to stock up on dried fruit + spices for my marathon Christmas cake baking session today... I have some gold and cream ribbon leftover from my wedding so am planning to make family presents out of my goodies
Talk to everyone later- hope you have a fantastic weekend!
All is fine and dandy thank you Mrs Sparkle
Hope the baking is going well! I love baking, find it so relaxing and enjoyable! I've never made a Christmas cake though. None in my family seem to like it although they love Christmas pudding. Strange lot!
Anyway, hope Spaklo is behaving today and you have put your feet up by now!
I am a bit concerned about ali007 taking DFW/OS a bit too far with this comment :eek:If you are doing this in proper DFW fashion I trust you will be doing without baby bath & shampoo & using stardrops instead .
But at least she offered to quality control your baking. Now that si a service that is worth it's weight in....hmmm stardrops??? :rotfl:Leason learnt :beer:0 -
I know! I mean I know Stardrops is excellent for everything but there are limits... Only joking Ali007, I know you were kidding
Sparklo is being very good today- people tell me this is the well-behaved bit, before he's actually born
I've got 3 cakes on the go- one for my parents, one for my brother and one for greedy old me (won't be feeding that one with brandy, more's the pity!). Hubby won't eat Christmas puddings or cakes- how weird!Debt at highest May 2006: £27,472.24

I am happy to have the brandy that you are missing out on! Mental note to do so at Christmas!
I am eating for two today too and there is no baking within me!!! :eek:Leason learnt :beer:0 -

Aren't the Christmas baking smells wonderful?? One of my favourite things about this time of yearCan't wait til December and I can start making mince pies, mmmmm. I had a bonfire today and the smell of burning leaves was just dreamy, oh I do love November!
If you can't be a good example, be a dire warning
MBNA charges and interest frozen

Forgot to update the diary bit (wonder why I became distracted... brandy and Thierry Henry perhaps?!!). Yesterday I heard back from MBNA and they've confirmed that they're giving me a card with 0% till Dec '07. Very happy about this as I'm now paying interest on 2 cards which I said I'd never do again. My various BTs total approx £9K and they're giving me a £10K limit so that card's going straight in the bin after being chopped into pieces.
The other advantage will be that it'll simplify my payments- I will owe Egg and MBNA- dead simple. I'm on maternity leave Feb-April so I need things to be as simple as possible. I'm really not looking forward to the 8 weeks I have to survive on £108 a week. Although part of my salary is a car allowance and I've been trying to find out from HR whether this will be paid or not while I'm on maternity leave. Surely it's a benefit rather than a salary... but HR can't tell me whether or not I'll be paid it so it's anyone's guess really... :rolleyes:Debt at highest May 2006: £27,472.24
