really dont know what to do :o(

i desperately need some advise please.
myself and my soon to be ex partner bought a house in august 2008. weve decided to split up and things are getting very very nasty. hes refusing to pay the mortgage in full, hes said he will pay half of everything and that i have to find the other half. im self employed and at the minute im earning 350 every 4 weeks maximum. our mortgage is on a variable.
im unsure what to do tbh. i dont want to go in arrears with the mortgage as im scared they will take away my home :(
ive rang the wftc and im eligable for £171.00 per week, but then i have to pay mortgage. im just so lost. any help is really appreciated.
sorry for the ramblings and upside down post but i will add more when i know more

These are the basic hings we pay each month.

Mortgage 645.26
House Contents Insurance 9.35
House Buildings Insurance 17.44

Download the budget planner on the Free tools section of the website to understand your true outgoings.
Who is living in the property and are you joint owners? Do either or you want to sell the property or buy the other one out? Have you sought legal advice from a solicitor?

Double check your benefit entitlements on the 'Entitled To' (turn 2 us) website.

Speak to Shelter or see their section on relationship breakdown to get an overview of your rights and options. They also have a section for homeowners to advise how to handle problems paying a mortgage and preventing repossession.

Book an appointment with a solicitor.

Do you mean wtc of £171 per month or per week? And do you mean that your share of the mortgage is £645 or that's the total mortgage payment?

Because if the tax credits are per month, you are netting around £1000 per month and if you only have to pay a half share in that mortgage your biggest expense takes up a third of that.

we both own it, both on mortgage and deeds. i dont believe there is any equity in the property tbh. we bought it when the market crashed. biggest mistake ever tbh :(
i havent been to a solicitor as of yet, but we are going to relate on monday, after that im going to try and speak to cab and get a free half hour with a solicitor

have spoken to shelter, they were absolutely brilliant and have given me some advice, theyre sending out some leaflets for if the worse happens

im going to do this next week after relate

171 is per week, when i added up everything i get in, and everything that goes out im left with negative. i just dont get enough to pay the morgage on my own and keep the house. its a 4 bedroomed, i have 2 boys 13 and 3 so would have a spare room which if i new somebody , i would rent to them. im not getting a lodger who i dont know though as i wouldnt want strangers around my children.
645 is the base rate whole payment atm. we were paying 919 but it came off the fixed rate in may.

ive sat and worked things out and i just cant afford to pay the mortgage on my own. hes not willing to pay half as if/when he leaves here hes going to have rent/bills etc to pay.
at the minute hes being very unreasonable. hes saying as of now i have to pay half of everything, while hes still there. i just dont have half and im not able to claim until hes gone and then he wont pay half. im so confused and hurt by the way hes being. i just cant take anymore :'(

    thankyou for your reply x

you need to also factor in maintenance for the children so you will have CTC+WTC+CB+wages+maintenance
you could also look at changing the morgage to interest only

What does your OH earn? You will get 20 percent of his salary.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
  • what about the possibility of renting your home out and you renting a smaller place for you and your children ?

Does that council tax include the 25% single persons discount as if your husband moves out, and there's just 1 adult, you would get a reduction.

You have excluded around £150 child benefit from your income. Your income, excluding child support from your husband, is around 1200 per month and your basic expenses if £200 food is added to your list of current expenses equals that. As you have missed out other important expenses, like transport, social expenses, etc, this means things are extremely tight.

You will need to go through the forums to work out how to cut your bills by moving to cheaper providers and perhaps cancelling broadband (make do with the free internet at the local library/tv packages, etc).

Do you have the potential to work full or part-time with an employer and do your self-employment on top, for example?

ive looked at renting, i dont have anybody who could help me with removals and the last time we moved it came to 800 pounds. i dont have that, or a deposit/rent in advance. i work from home so everything here is of the standard i need it to be with work too. if i moved id be waiting at least 6 weeks before it could be checked and made sure its ok

i included the cb, its 33.20 pw
we arnt married so does that change child support???
i need the internet for work if im honest, the library is 3 miles each way from me, my lo wouldnt walk that far and back without creating the biggest hissy fit and then lying on the floor.plus weve signed a 2 year contract with virgin which we are about 6 months into.
i have thought about part time work on top but then if i got wftc that would lower those.
im so stuck. im petrefied of losing the house. i know the council would rehome us but we are settled here, after years of being unsettled. my children are happy :(
