  • Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me the RRP for the Studio 1 and Studio 2 Balanced Flue fires. Thanks!
  • Hi dozergirl. Was it the studio 22 you purchased and if so where did you buy it from? I am looking to buy the 22 in limestone and have been quoted £2,900 fitted?

No, mine is the Studio 3 edge. I bought it from www.fireplacesaver.co.uk

It is is the biggest fireplace in the world. Despite having built the chimney for it especially, there apparantly wasn't anything in the technical info that said how tall the hood was (mmm) and so it's still not installed as H has wandered off to concentrate on other things whilst he thinks about it. The lintel is in the way of the hood which means that we're going to have to site it slightly further back from the wall, I think. :wall:

Suggest anyone that plans on having a Studio 3 understands that in an existing house you'd have to remove pretty much an entire wall to get it in! As our wall is new and the entire chimney was built for this specific fire, I'd suggest that people in a similar position measure twice, cut once!

  • I'm thinking of having just a glass fronted gas fire in my living room, with no radiator. The room is approx 19' x 11' so a fire could cope but is it a bad idea to not have a radiator too? It seems to me that the room will be hard enough to furnish sensibly without the added problem of furniture in front of a radiator.

    Thanks.

    Hope

Hi, I bought a Studio 1 Edge BF from Fireplace Saver and had it shipped to Sydney, Australia. Cost me £1650 delivered, much, much cheaper than I could ever buy a similar fire here in Aus. Big thumbs up for the fire and for Fireplace Saver who were the only ones willing to ship to me in Aus. The fact that it is remote control and programmable is just awesome too. Love it.

Actually, I can no longer find any Gazco products on the Fireplace Saver website and thought they (Gazco) might have gone bust? But I think I'm wrong??

I couldn't find it on a search within the website but a search from google led me straight to it. If you call, they definitely sell them.

  • Gazco 'police' the internet very well. They do not want their products being sold at discounted rates as it seen to devalue their products. A web site will always be cheaper than a showroom, but you purchase with no support or warranty (limited) from these outlets.
As with all industries, if you all purchase from these web sites then, we showrooms, will not exist in the future. Yes we all like a bargain of course, but at the moment consumers need showrooms to view the 'Studio' then purchase off the internet. Fair? well thats a different argument isn't it. Just wait until you require a service call or need to purchase parts, then you'd wished you had paid that little bit extra!
As you have gathered by now I run a showroom, and it' not the missing out on the odd order here and there to the internet, but it's the people ringing or coming to see me to explain they have purchaesd from a website and that they have a problem this that or another and want me to sort it out - for a drink!! sorry no can do!!
Remember when you purchase from a showroom, you are buying more than the product.

And you point is? Why drag up a 6 month old post?

I have just had a Gazco Studio 1 ballanced flue fire fitted and have been advised that it is best to leave the pilot light on all year as it stops the glass front getting condensation when you light the fire, and saves you having to clean the glass every time you light it. My concern with this is how much will it cost to leave the pilot light on as the glass stays very warm with it on? It is an amazing fire and really throws the heat out into the room.
