think once down to the 19.9 it wont be a bad card0

Progress card started at £1000 now fourth statemed apr dropped and limit put upto £15000

Cap 1 Classic
Had it for 3 years
Started on £200 limit
Finished on £200 limit
No increase at all and my credit file was MILES better 3 years down the line than when the card was taken out. 3 people told me that the increase is not automatic and not guaranteed at all - and certainly not by a set month.
Apologies - I have re-read the OPs thread and missed that they stated the Progress card - not the Classic! So, ignore me...PMA - Positive Mental Attitude

I got the progress card 8 months ago with an initial credit limit of £300, I pay the credit card in full each month, do not have any CCJs or Defaults and never made a payment late.
On the 4th statement received a letter saying my APR was reducing but as I have not used the card they cannot increase my limit.
I called customer services who advised it was an error and that should not have appeared and that my card was not eligible for an increase after the 4th month?
I have been pre approved for higher limits elsewhere but just use this card to improve my score as I have never needed any credit.
But I did get a call from customer services telling me not to withdraw cash just before my 4th statement because interest is higher, but sometimes I forget my current account card so easier than going back home. So I think CapOne view this as your short of cash and dont increase your limit?
Heres my tips to get a limit increase
1. Use the card for purchases only
2. ALWAYS keep the card within its limit, better if you try to only use up to 80% of available limit
3. Do not use for cash withdrawals
4. ALWAYS make the payments before the due date
5. Pay as much as possible rather than the minimum payment
Stick to the above and the credit limit increases should roll in0 -
Same here mate. Also recieved letter on my 4th statement advising that apr was reduced but credit limit coulnd't be increased as no purchase was made.
I have recieved 9 statements from capital progress and have always paid in full. Still stuck with paltry £200. If it wasn't for 2 free equifax reports, I'd have ditched the card by now.
Imagine cap1 progress card with interest rate of 17.90 and credit limit of £200. Thanks but no thanks.0 -
i opened mine in march this year £300 limit apr 34.5
july 2010 29.9 apr £800 limit
i use about 600 pounds a month on it (75%)and payback at least 400 (50%), balance is usually 200 at bill time, i pay around 400 quid over the month with my minimum payment always paid the first day posiible after statement comes out
its now march (1 year on and im still at 800 limit but down to 22.9 apr ( i think) seems to have went down by 7%????
im still spending the same as before and paying back teh same with usually a 200 balance, not as good as my tesco card but its handy for buying fishing gear without the missus knowing how much it costs :rotfl:0 -
I told people months ago on how pathetic the Progress card was and everyone told me it was an excellent card.
What stupid person would want to honestly wait 3 years for a 17.9% apr.0 -

I agree, however those including myself who applied before August 2010 will be able to reach the 17.9% apr after 16 months as we are on old terms and conditions which yield 17.9% after 3 cycles.0 -
The old Progress reaches 19.9% after three cycles. It doesn't go as low as the new one
Still, the best sub prime card available APR wiseCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
