Snooze, you appear to have an attitude problem in addition to being wrong in your post.

    1) Cashback can be over £100, not two pence.

    2) Skimlinks isn't in the referrals board anyway, people are referring to cashback sites.

    2) Nobody has said they would boycott the forums.

    3) Dan was not transparent as he has backtracked and contradicted himself.

Robt you are just splitting hairs for the sake of an argument. I agree with what Snooze has said. If you don't like the changes then go and find another site to hang out on. The skimlinks make no difference to the user.

    Move along.

    1. Wah! Wah! Wah! What are you going to do about my 2p loss your crappy links are going to cost me from the cashback sites!!!!!!!!!!!!??? Wah! Wah! Wail!
I like this site, but I don't like it an average of £75 a month which is what I earn from casback sites. (Sorry, that must have been what you meant when you said 2p right? Understandable typo there....)

Cashback can be substantial from just one sale, if you are picking up insurance, utilities switching, breakdown cover etc.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

Sorry, which bit of potentially loosing out on hundreds pounds of cashback is not making a difference to the end user?

I haven't said I don't like the changes, and I don't need someone who posts four times in 18 months telling me to find another site to 'hang out on'.

Question, if you are correct and the end user is loseing out on cashback as this is interfering with it, rather than knocking it could your time not be better spent suggesting a workaround?

At the end of the day, this site is a big advert for MARTIN, one way or another he makes money from it, whether any of that goes back into the site is none of mine, but more importantly YOUR beezwax.

I may not always agree with the way Martin runs this site, but if he wants to make some extra money from it, i dont blame him, it seems to me you are just wanting to make an issue of anything right now, wich is sad, as i have respected your input so far.

If it effects the cash back links, then i can understand why, but at the end of the day, it still does not excuse your respnces, and the attitude Martin should not look after his intrest first, if thats the case, wich i am not commenting on either way.

At the end of the day, sites this size cost a lot of money, it seems to me this 'transparancy' policey is now not good enough, if i was Martin i would say stuff you, I tried to do it the right way, and thats the responce....

I dant actualy see why Dan or Martin should be defending any of this, if the income is needed for whatever reason, even if it is for Martins benefit, which i niether care if it is or not, who the hell are you to question that?

Well it means that you have two referral cookies in your system.

One from skimlinks, and one from quidco.

Previously you'd be alright having a look at the product through the link that someone had provided on here and then logging into quidco and finding it through theirs, as the MSE link was not associated with any paying network.

Now though the cookies from MSE will be placed when you click through from here to have a look, and as it appears to be a normal link there is no way to tell if I hadn't read this thread.

The retailer won't pay out twice so it's more than likely they will pay whoever got there first (MSE).

I don't mind this so much, as I use seperate browsers, and will still use it to buy from Amazon (because there is no cashback available to me anyway, and someone might as well benefit) but I just feel a warning would have been appropriate for those users who don't use two browsers and have seen MSE as a safe place links wise.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

Sweet of you to explain thanks but sorry this is the height of paranoia Turki - you get paid from quidco if you go through that and that's all that should matter surely?

i'm loving my amex more than before :D it pays me a chunk at the end of the year - it doesn't mind me going through mse online or shopping offline

There already is a workaround - use a different web browser (as I have already said if you were to read my previous posts).
At the end of the day, this site is a big advert for MARTIN, one way or another he makes money from it, whether any of that goes back into the site is none of mine, but more importantly YOUR beezwax.

Nobody has said otherwise, but it is quite funny watching people leaping to Martins defence. I run a website. I make a living from it. Should I tell users of the website how much I make from them or how I spend the money? No.
I may not always agree with the way Martin runs this site, but if he wants to make some extra money from it, i dont blame him, it seems to me you are just wanting to make an issue of anything right now, wich is sad, as i have respected your input so far.

Try reading the thread and the posts in context instead of jumping on one post.

    Eh?
At the end of the day, sites this size cost a lot of money, it seems to me this 'transparancy' policey is now not good enough, if i was Martin i would say stuff you, I tried to do it the right way, and thats the responce...

I'm not questioning it, nor have I questioned it elsewhere in this thread. Aim your questions at the right people if you don't want defensive responses.

Dan or Martin don't need to defend what they are doing whatsoever and, again, nobody has said otherwise.

My only "problem" is that Dan didn't tell the truth about how the system works, and that has been cleared up.

Will Skimlinks effect me? Not one bit. I'm savvy enough to know how to do my best to ensure that cashback is credited to me. However I spend a lot of time in the Techie Forum and if you were to spend five minutes in there, you would see that this site (as a whole) has a user base with an extremely low level of computing knowledge. It is THEM who will wonder why their cashback has stopped tracking, not me.
