    - 10 [ish ] million visitors a month on this site @ £50 a sign~up
    - 4 [ ish ] million visitors a month on the aggregated site ?

I'm a self confessed anti Phorm in whatever form it takes. Is MSE cross-subsidising the TuneChecker site which appears to be the one that needs white labelling ?

Anything I post that is tracked and identified as personal to me is wrong.

I think MSE should do this on a revenue sharing basis.

Is anyone else on Firefox not seeing the skimlinks at all?
I see absolutely nothing - and I have no blockers that I am aware of as the way I earn my living is to spot what people are using and investigate it ... to see if what they have can help me.

Not seen one link ever here, at all. Nowhere.

I only came here today/now, to read through ... didn't even know they were on until you asked this question.

If you are on IE, right click on a link, and click properties - they'll start with moneysavingexpert etc. However not every link has them - either that, or when I click on them - 2nd time they seem to disappear.

Me & my daughter were looking at something on the benefits board the other night, and there was a link, then when I was going to copy it, it disappeared. They are really well hidden.

Since skimlinks was introduced I have had 9 infected files on my pc. I have only used this site in the last 2 weeks and only infrequently so it has to be something to do with the skimlinks program.
Next time, please write down what the notices about the infected files say and post that. It's most likely that they are reports of ad network tracking cookies but they could be something else. The referral sites drop cookies on the computers of those who click on links as part of the tracking of where a buyer came from, so the system can work out who needs to get paid. It's worth finding out just what is happening so that the MSE team can act as needed.

It's also worth considering that a site with millions of visitors will inevitably have some who get infected with malicious software, not just cookies, on the day it introduces something. Probably not what's happening in your case, but worth bearing in mind.

Or to put it in another way: the security concerns are valid, but that doesn't mean that all security alerts are ones to be concerned about.

Thanks for that insightful input after making 10 posts on the site...

Perhaps if you'd been here a little longer you'd realise that 'putting up ads' pretty much goes against the entire ethos of MSE.

You presume too much on the first point ;)

Secondly, I think the ethos of no ads on the site is rather contradicting itself with this "Skim" rubbish

    I made a statement, not a presumption.

    Sorry to confuse you... ;)

Wow, you have a real bee in your bonnet about post counts! A statement it may have been, but it was a very presumptious one and wrong. So you can climb down from your massive post count of 684 now! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I stand by what I have already said, would rather upfront adverts than this! Thanks for the suggestion of ad blocker!
