Has anyone had experience of Ilva? - Danish IKEA

I was just wondering if anyone had been to a store?
They have opened one up in Manchester today and I thought I'd pop along to see what they're like but I've never heard of them before.

ILVA is not targetting quite the same market as IKEA - yes - it's same idea, same minimalistic, unlacquered, flat pack, rented commuter furniture, but with colourful wrapping and pretensions to be "design" label. They will have simplistic, wobbly, folding garden tables for £270, metal bracket, foam sofas for £700+ and wrinkled paper floor lamps for £150. The kind of stuff you can find anywhere else for 20-30% of those price tags. They are to IKEA what Homebase is to B&Q or Waitrose is to Morrisons... The IKEA of Chelsea if you will...0

I thought as much after looking at their website.
They haven't been marketing it at all from what I can see. The only reason we know it's there is because we happened to drive passed it.
Another IKEA is opeining soon in Manchester so I think I'll wait and go to that. I wonder if the do any local promotions/discounts..........????0 -
I much preferred IKEA. Prices seemed better, and products seemed better. There wasn't much I liked in ILVA, but plenty I could have put on my list in IKEA! x0

Those are my principles. If you don't like them, I have others.
I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.
You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.
It's a recession when your neighbour loses his job; it's a depression when you lose yours.0 -
Yeah although I drive passed it on a weekly basis and it looks far from ready to me.
The boards outside just say late 2006 but October was originally meant to be the opening month, not really sure if that's still the case now.0 -
Going passed Anncoats in the morning (Plumbcenter) I,ll take a look.0

The IKEA is in Ashton, near the Snipe Pit Retail area where the B&Q Warehouse, Carpetworld? etc. are.A house isn't a home without a cat.

Drove by Ilva in Ancoats this evening. Lots of sparkly lights and it looked BIG. We didn't go in though in the end, I figured if we weren't going to find a bargain then it wasn't worth looking.
I've got (almost) a new house to furnish don't you know0 -
