One correction - the VAT number is still on the site. The VAT authorities will confirm whether it is valid & I will follow this up on Monday. We might find who the company is behind this site (fingers & everything else crossed)

I'm in the same boat folks. I also made the mistake of paying with Paypal and then been fobbed off by this company, now too late to claim back from Paypal (should have used credit card instead. A lesson learned...)

I've done what a previous poster suggested & logged a claim anyway. Paypal haven't rejected it so who knows?

I'm really kicking myself because I ordered from them previously and was messed about then but the order did eventually turn up & they had the lights to match.

Oh well, fingers crossed indeed.

Some brighter news for PayPal customers.

Per my earlier post I raised a calim from PayPal for refund of £92ish for goods not delivered by Lighting-Direct. This amount is below the credit card reclaim value of £100 (my PayPal account is paid thru AMEX).

I just had message from PayPal to say they have found in my favour and that I will get a refund:j

This usually takes approx 7 days to process.:T

I will post again when funds are in my sticky mitts.

So, pop in your claim to PayPal and don't lose heart.

Same old Same old !!

I too have not received my order from lightingdirect placed on the 30th May.

Cannot contact by phone - emails bounced back.

I cannot believe that the website is still active and they are still taking peoples money !! Surely someone has the authority to close it down ? Someone is clearly still around to add the "important notice".

I am also really fed up with Paypal - ive only just found out bout the 45 day limit.......they certainly DONT make that clear when the advertise what a secure way it is to pay !!!!!

Lighting Direct Under New Ownership

Just looked through contact details and the address has changed to Clarke Road in Milton Keynes. Quick google search and the only lighting company I can find is called Lyco Direct so clearly they have bought it lock stock and barrell. Doubt they will have bought the debts but we may actually get some movement now and get the goods we ordered. The phone number is different to the one on their main site so they must be setting up for a whole load of calls to a dedicated number. There is hope yet!

Looking at the website and it appears that the contact details have changed. They have removed the "warning " that they had up before about them experiencing technical difficulties.

I've left a message on their new number and we'll see how far I get.
Will let you know.

So lighting-direct have gone into Liquidation and been taken over by Lyco Direct. They are unable and not obliged to fulfill any of the previous orders before 13th of September how ever you can buy your lights with a 50% off discount. No thanks not having anything to do with this company ever again even if it has been taken over. So the fight with the credit card company begins again to get a refund... what a load of &*%^
Can't believe they were allowed to trade for so long before the takeover they were just taking people's money knowing they couldn't fulfill the orders, shocking!

Damn. A dilemma - they were the only company to stock the lights I was after. I need some, and 50% is a good discount...

I hate to argue with a previous poster but Lighting Direct Ltd has not gone into liquidation. It is £4 dormant company which no-one in their right mind would put into liquidation & there is no reference to liquidation on the Companies House site. So what has been put into liquidation??
