"I'll have you know that my cupboard under the stairs is tidy and even gets vacuumed at least once a week!!

Easy way not to have clutter in the loft - have a loft conversion!! "

It might be tidy but whats in it? Or is that where Mr Greent lives

Would love a loft conversion but trying to get rid of mortgage not make it bigger :D

lol! Mr G currently working away and only home at weekends and is a neat freak.

In my under the stairs cupboard are 3 coat racks - but not much hanging on them - all sorted recently. One shoe rack with shoes on (not many - generally should be kept in wardrobes!) One dyson, 1 mop and bucket, I large dressing up trunk, 2 crates of plastic animals.

Loft conversion - aye - without it our mortgage would be around £30k smaller...., if not more... it's gorgeous, though!!

Is that your loft which is gorgeous??

We managed to squeeze the old mattress into the car and get that to the dump so we're getting there!

hi jellie - a friend of mine had a friend who was just setting up his photography business. He was in the Manchester area - if that was any good for you I could get his details - no idea how much he would charge as he didn't charge the friend for his time only the prints but the photos were excellent.

Thanks Saving. I'm in the South East so might be too far for him. Although if he was happy to travel he could do us a quote. PM me if he would be interested!

Am also amazed what charities turn away. I had a leaflet through the door the other day asking for furniture for local homeless - wouldnt take a sofa over 3 years old!!! My first sofa was ancient and as it was free I was glad of it!!

Jellie sorry to hear about lack of photographer still, can you sell some of the clutter to help toward the cost??

Ooh yes - we have a yummy bedroom, a landing/ dressing area and a large bathroom with a fantabulous bath in (it's mega deep - if I'm in it and filled it it comes past my armpits) - with separate shower, the usual other stuff, room for a chest of drawers (for the toiletries stash :p and towels!) and still plenty of room in there. And because it's the loft it's away from the children (much as I love them, of course!)

Well done on the decluttering front!

That is crazy Dansmum. I can only think that there must be loads of people out there giving them nearly new perfect stuff!

I'm not sure that I can make much from my clutter but I suppose every little helps!

I'm trying to clean the whole house today and am exhausted. I'm seriously considering a cleaner- I'm loathe to spend the money but could do with freeing up the time and energy!

That sounds gorgeous! Depending on how the finances go we're considering a loft conversion. At the moment it contains lots of empty boxes, my winter wardrobe, suitcases and various bits of tat!

Maybe I should consider cutting back on my clothes even more and trying to sell some. I don't have much hanging space in my bedroom and don't like having all my casual clothes on hanging rails in box room. However if I sell them I might just miss them and end up replacing them!

Where I live they take old furniture providing it has a flamable safety label that meets their criteria.

I have a cleaner - and like to think the £10 a day challenge pays for her plus some towards xmas and birthdays... a necessity in our house. She's not been this week - and ermmmmmmm I will leave it there...

That's a good idea saving- a money neutral cleaner effectively!
OH is just about to get small pay rise and says that can pay for cleaner.
