I haven't got anywhere near the loft yet!

Dansmum- he's not sure if he'll be up and about yet. I've been checking out photographers on the web and around £1000 seems usual round here!
I'll have to start asking everyone I know for recommendations! Was going to ask some family and friends to take photos. I really wanted a photographer too though as we both love photography! However I'm not sure I'm prepared to pay that much!

I'll have you know that my cupboard under the stairs is tidy and even gets vacuumed at least once a week!!

Easy way not to have clutter in the loft - have a loft conversion!! :D

Back to photographers - you may not want to spend a fortune, but it really is worth getting someone to take photos for you - all teh fun ones from friends are great - but some where everyone is looking at the camera etc are good too! Recommendations yes - and don't leave it too late - the best ones are always booked WAY in advance! What may eb an idea is someone who does photography as a top-up job - I know 2 people who have full time jobs but do weddings/ portraits etc at weekends/ holidays - they tend to be a little cheaper...

Would love a loft conversion but trying to get rid of mortgage not make it bigger :D

Ouch to the price of photographer - if you can go from a reccommendation though - my dh's niece paid a fortune and was really disappointed in hers 2 years ago - contemplated sueing them then decided it would be too upsetting. She hasn't shown the photo album to anyone!!!! It would be an advantage to have seen some of the photos taken first by the photographer of your choice though if you can. Don't want to scare you with that example as there are far more people very happy with their photographers then not - IYKWIM - Just make sure you are clear what you want and see examples.

    Hi Jellie :)
Got a quote from recommended photographer and it was £1100- don't really want to spend that much.

We spent £800 on our photographer (Swindon area) and she was great :) I was all for getting a friend to do ours but DH put his foot down and I'm so glad he did. Especially after seeing the 'friends' photo's of the day which just didn't come out right!

I could probably find my wedding budget list if you'd like a gander? We got married last year with 30 for the day and 70 for the evening. We spent £6000(ish) but saying that our friends are getting married this year with 120people and I hear that their spending bout £7000

I think its an important thing. When I got married first time (young and stupid :D no longer married) the photographer didmt turn up! And the car broke down on the way.... Should have told me then huh? I just wondered if you could call your tutor, ask him how he is !! then ask for recommendations ....

As for having clean cupboards eek mine is disgusting, but if I declutter the spare room and have the aforementoned place to store guitars and keyboards then the cupboard will be tidy :D

Thanks everyone. My tutor doesn't know anyone else doing wedding photography. I guess I'll have to just try some local photographers and set up meetings to see portfolios etc. Might just have to bite the bullet on the cost.
Charity truck came by today to collect some larger items and they refused most of them :( I'm a bit miffed as I thought they were in good enough condition for a charity shop- I'd buy them if I needed them. Now need to figure how to dispose of them before relatives come to visit on Friday!

Always amazes me what some charties will turn away. Perhaps you could try some other charties or your council may pick up the larger items for a small fee.

Have just dragged the bed side tables to a less discerning charity shop!
Smlsave- we'll see if we can get stuff in car first as the council charge. However with the dryer we might not have a choice!
