Just wanted to say thank you for all the advice, i have spoken to my new landlord, sorted out a new bank account, got an appointment with a solicitor and the bank manager ( in alot of trouble i think ), applied for carers allowance and got my hair cut short
Thank you, your advice is invaluable and appreciated Grocery Challenge - Jan £4.42/£200.00

Glad to hear that Tulip. Don't forget to get the benefits paid into your new account!
Have you contacted the CSA yet? Are you moving to the new property? Hope it all works out for you. You sound like a lovely person, whereas your husband...don't listen to a word he says! Sounds like he is trying to manipulate the whole situation to his advantage. Don't let him.
The solicitor will sort you out, but there are lots of people who can give you excellent advice on here, whatever the situation. I don't think you have to move out before you claim benefits as a single person. I have known people in this situation who have been able to claim while still under the same roof, although rules may have changed?
Perhaps someone can advise?0 -
Any news Tulip?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

Have only just read this thread, but just wanted to say well done for making that brave move!

Your (ex) husband sounds very cruel and callous and I am so pleased you managed to get such wonderful advice on here.
Good luck with everything in the future - sounds to me like you have a very supportive family and at least now you are living close to them
