No, I just know more about this than you do, evidently.
I like truth, honesty, facts and transparency. I prefer information presented as fact to be correct, and not just opinion or carefully phrased weasel words.
For example: When companies say "We don't do animal testing" they often mean "We get someone else to do it for us" so I always verify the information rather than just swallow what I'm told.
I would have thought you would have liked that beautyscientist. Isn't that what science is all about?
Science certainly is about truth, honesty, facts and transparency, and admitting you have got something wrong. It is customary to be a little graceful when someone has confessed to an error as well. I am not sure why you phrased it as if I would in some way not agree with it?
I would be interested in hearing which company said they didn't do animal testing while actually subcontracting the work out. PM me if you don't want to be public about it. I like to verify things too, and that is a very interesting story.
If anyone really mistrusts animal testing claims there is a certification scheme run by the Vegetarian Society. They regularly inspect suppliers that they approve. I have managed a lab that was inspected so I can confirm that they are very thorough. Approved products have their logo on them and several brands you can buy in supermarkets are approved.Student of the science of beauty0 -

I picked this up last month on the clearance shelf in Tesco for £2.42 (it can also be bought online in various sites for £4.99). I cannot praise this conditioner enough, I have hair that really tangles, I have literally broken brushes trying to get it smoothed out, and have a few brushes that are now missing a lot of bristles, but since I started using this a few days ago the brush literally glides through my hair and it stays silky soft and smooth all day, I no longer need to use frizz-ease serums. I wash my hair everyday and this stuff is amazing![ /QUOTE]

Hi
Just thought I would drop by and let you know about some products I've been using that you might be interested in. I thought it might be good if we share opinions of products as we look for new toiletries.
I dye my hair regularly at home and until recently have been using Superdrug's own brand (I know probably not the best one anyway). Last time I dyed my hair, I used Naturtint and I love it! Covered as well as the old hair dye, lovely colour, lovely shine and has left my hair in fab condition. This still has some chemicals in, but no ammonia and no resourcinol.
I've also been using Green People's moisturising shampoo and intensive repair conditioner and they are both lovely. I thought the smell of the shampoo was a bit weird at first, but I've gotten used to it now and actually really like it. My hair is quite fine, but there's lots of it and it gets dry easily. This shampoo and conditioner worked well for my hair, but they do other ones aswell. My hair looks better than it has for years and I'm getting compliments on it

P.S. I don't work for Naturtint or Green PeopleThough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0 -
I have been hunting down some cheap products and have found a good range in Asda when i do my online shop.
I have bought a range called halosnhorns designed for kids and really reasonable, my son can wash his hair in it and i use it too as a body wash, you can buy the bath one for £1.80 and this is the same as the bodywash ingredients and does say on the back can be used as a wash.
Also they do a range called pureadore and this is really cheap too at Asda and to be honest i bought the lavender lotion and use it as face cream, smells lovely and is a massive 300ml bottle.
They do have another kids/mums range but a bit more pricey but looks more indulgent though. You just have to look under the babies/kids section.
It can be done on a budget :T0 -

I have to admit that I use the Halosnhorns range of shampoos myself (I still have greasy hair but have found they are greeat for my scalp). I stocked up last week in Tesco as they were on offer - cant remember price though:mad: Think it was around £1.38/£1.40 mark
Just checked on line and it's £1.24 for the shampoo's:jSave money on toiletries: no new/duplicate items until I've used up all existing supplies

 Thanks for all the recs. I've been checking out Spezia Organics after they were mentioned on the dry lips thread and I think I can add them to my approved brands list.
They have been very helpful when I've emailed to ask questions. I haven't actually tried any products yet though.
I love love LOVE Ethical Superstore! It's heaven for somebody like me.Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. Einstein0 -

So far I've liked skincare/bathtime/haircare products from naturallythinking.com (I buy what they call their 'cosmetic bases' and add essential oils)
Please check out Reviewcentre before ordering from this company as Naturally Thinking only get 3/5 stars. Unfortunately the negative reviews match with my experience, the recent spate of positive ones are solicited via Facebook!

Can I put in a word for NYR Organic? This is Neals Yard Organics - and they believe in saying No - no animal testing, no GM ingredients, no parabens, no synthetic fragrences or colours, no silicones or mineral oils, no propylene glycol or carbomer - which are derived from petroleum - and all their products are manufacted in Dorset, in the eco-headquarters with most of the plants being grown in the UK.
I'm not putting any websites in here - but just google NYR Organic!!0
