Laptops MP3s are OK. No Lipsticks or balms at the moment but that may change next week. Books are fine too. No liquids at all at the mo either. Ask the crew, the airline i work for is putting on extra amenity packs for the passengers beacuse of this
We flew out of Manchester on September 4 and asked about lipstick. The check-in girl said they weren't allowed, but when we got to security and asked again we were told that lipsticks ARE allowed through, but not lip gloss or balm. So you see there seems to be confusion even within the industry.

Does anyone know if BA are still giving out their packs with toothbrushes toothpaste etc on long haul flights, my BF flew to the USA last year with them and it came in handy. We are making the same trip next Sunday, a 10&3/4hr flight without cleaning out teeth ARghhh!! I tend to get infections in my wisdom teeth if they are not cleaned thoroughly after every meal and so am more than a bit worried!
Debt free = December 2010...as of March 2006 it is now January 2010..... as of December 2008 it is now December 2009 :j hopefully sooner!!
:jDEBT FREE:j January 2012, took longer but I got there, all by myself, through sheer hard work and pride!

I think that if they're making us board without essentials that they should at least provide replacements. I usually take 2 litres of water on long haul flights and I need LIPSTICK!

    Re lip balm.

I've flown a few times while the new measures have been in place and never once have I had a problem with lip balm in my pocket. I even take it out and put it in the basket with wallet, etc for X-ray screening and not once had a problem.

  • i have to say that flying to and from the US since the new restrictions 'seemed' less 'invasive' than normal. the airlines though are going to have to recognise that because you can't take liquids on board they really need to think about providing extra drinks ....i would be quite happy to purchase a bottle of water upon entering the aircraft at a price that even made a profit for the airline

Flew to the states this weekend. BA were pretty good about supplying drinks on the flight. If you asked for extra water they gave it to you without any questioning.

On top of that the FA's came round a few times more than often offering everyone OJ and/or watter.

Yes. I work for BA and in economy they are on the seat. If not ask the crew and we will happily find you one

My DD has eczema and her skin dries up horribly on the flight. As we have a 10 hour flight will she not be allowed her gel moisturiser? Its prescription moisturiser from the Doc.
