I understand that but it does leave people in doubtexel1966 wrote:From experience of taking the said items with me in the past few weeks. The sites do not specifically list ALL permissable items as it would be never ending.0 -

All I can say to that is people will have differing interpretations of everything and maybe it should be made a little clearer perhaps, but to me it is quite clear what can and what can't be taken and my interpretation of the regulations has not caused any problems for me having flown numerous times in the last month.0 -
Having flown out of Gatwick on 05/09 I concentrated on not having the things the authorities 'specified' that you couldn't take. As exel1966 says a list of what is permissable would be huge - think of all the things you've seen people take on board aircraft in the past!

They didn't seem too strict about size, but did make you remove your shoes and belt before walking through the metal detector 'doorframe'!!!

I understand all forms of skincare would not be allowed, but does anybody know whether you can take what you buy at the freeshop??? I always renew my stock there!!0

Books are fine. Electrical equipment is fine too - including mobile phones. I think some airlines are more strict than others on size of the hand luggage.0

be very aware that certainly Heathrow is policing the carry-on size quite actively - I've seen people with backpacks just slightly too wide being turned back there.
Don't carry-on makeup; I saw some sad ladies having to drop their stuff in the bin.
Fluids....you won't get them through security but you can buy drinks in the secure zone and carry them onto the plane - unless you're going to the US.In the United Kingdom 200,000 people are bitten by dogs every year and some people will die as a result. Of those bitten, 70% are children... So the question has to be asked....... Has the time come to ban children?0 -
Going to the US in a few weeks and my OH and I are unsure as to whether he can carry his camera bag separately to his backpack , or if it has to go in his backpack , which would mean he wouldn't have room for much else as his camera bag is quite big :undecided Anyone know please?Same old same old since 20080

ONE item of hand baggage only.0 -
It is only one bag per person, therefore you would have to put the camera in the back pack. This of course may change next week.0

If the bag is nearly empty and squashable to less than 16cm thick will they allow it?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
