IMPORTANT INFO: READ THE CONTRACT!!
I have just been reading the contract from one of the supplyers of the FREE systems.
1: if you need to have the panels removed for any reason they will charge you for removing and refitting the panels plus they
will charge you for the cost of lost leccy production.
2: if you want to buy the system from them they will charge you on a sliding scale but its not on the cost of the panels fitted ie: say £15000 to £0 over 25 years
they want the total cost of the FIT. so if you want to buy them say after 6 months the cost is £310000 -
Welcome to the forum Bonzocat.
The problem with ISIS and all the other frims providing free pv is they have simply been overwhelmed by take up and don't have the staff to cope with demand. If you drop out there's a hundred other people waiting to take your place.
After nearly 4 months today got a contract from ISIS. I was disappointed to find that their 'Buy Out price' took into account 'Fits which would otherwise have been paid to ISIS for the remaining period of the contract'. In effect - no point buying the system later.
The deal breaker, though, is that the home-owner would be liable for all the costs of removing and reinstating the system, should roof repairs need to be done, and AND PAYING ISIS THE FITS IT WOULD HAVE EARNED while the panels were out of action! Nobody I know mends their roof for a pastime, and how could you sell a house with a contract in place that has clause like that in it?
Call me 'green' but I'm losing the faith!0 -

Hi Jen
Did you notice my post a couple of days ago? I'm pretty sure ASG's contract said they would remove the panels up to 2 x a year for roof repairs at no cost (but even this made me anxious).
But them not expecting you to undertake any roof repairs in 25 years seems unrealistic to the point of ridiculousness!!!
But at least there's hope, maybe other companies have differing policies on this, and you could try another.

Very funny!!!
And thank you Nang. Homesun nearly got away with £100 of my hard-earned cash. BG were a joke almost as funny as the above. Isis are taking the mick. I think I applied to ASG, but heard nothing. I've just emailed them. I may not have contacted them, 'cos, at the time' it seemed like a good idea to get in a 'pay later', which now appears to be 'pay through the nose'!0 -

I wonder if you could answer a question I've asked a few times before without response?
In the contract, does it mention anything about the land registry, and if so, could you indicate what it says? Thanks.0 -

1.17 Removal of the System for reason of renovation or extension of the Premises
During the term of this Lease the Tenant agrees to remove the System twice for a maximum period of 3 months each time to enable the Landlord to either renovate or extend the Premises without charge to the Landlord upon notification by the Landlord to the Tenant.
(i.e. it's twice in 25 years, not twice a year)0 -

The ASG contract makes no mention of the Land Registry whatsoever.
If you want to see their contract, PM me your email address and I'll let you have a copy and you can read it yourself.0 -

YES it does.
they want to check who owns the house and to find out if anyone has a say in the property ie:is it mortgaged.
they want you to sign the land registry plans.
the lease form is 20 pages.
following the grant to us of the lease we will register it at the land regisry (providing we can get all necessary consents from third parties with rights over your roof including your mortgage provider if applicable)
this will ensure that any third party looking at the title to your property (any future buyers or a new mortgagee) is aware of the existance of this lease and the rights it affords
Hope this helps:beer:0
