    Nang,
I think everyone is aware of the FIT and 3p for exported electricity.

Whilst you can elect to have 3p/kWh for an assumed 50% of your generated output, that is likely to change when we all move to 'smart metering'.

In any case I suspect the majority of those with large systems will be slightly better off with an export meter. If someone with a 4kWp system generates, say 3,500kWh I suspect he will export far more than 50% of that output.

4.44 kW? Aren't they wanting to keep it at 4kW for the maximum FIT rate?

Not everyone is aware, as amazingly I had someone write to me who had his system installed some time ago and was still waiting for his first payment, but hadn't actually applied to his Energy suppliers MGS.

Your installer won't necessarily explain the process to you, so you have to contact your power company as soon as you get your Installation number.

In terms of the smart meter, when we first had the system installed it broke our meter as the meter couldn't handle the energy going back into the grid. When I asked about smart metering my energy supplier told me that they had not even been fully tested yet, so it would be along time before they would be available to the consumer. But as usual they were unable to be specific.

The main problem of this green scam is you get paid 42 pence per unit sold to the grid.

No user on the grid pays 42 pence per unit. Simple mathematics says that the tax payer pays and hence you and me.

    Scam

No you do not get paid 42p per unit sold to the gid

you get 41.3p per kw that the panels produce even if you use it your self
what goes back to the grid you get 3p per kw

You don't get 41.3P for a 4.44kWp system - it must be under 4kWp to attract the highest rate.

I thought you were getting a free 'Rent a roof' system?

If that is so it won't matter to you if it is under or over 4kWp. However I am very surprised a 'rent a roof' firm would install a 4 kWp system as they would get more from FITs with a smaller system

I was replying to someone else's question
Not refering to my 4.44kw system
I KNOW the amount that the FIT pays for systems over 4kw are less
if you read my other posts and you would know that

Unless you don't have an export meter in which case you get 1.5 pence additional for every Kwh you produce, i.e 42.8 pence, as I explained in my post above.

Which apparently everyone already knows about. :p
