Nang - Just had a look at your graphs, but I useless at interupting them (well almost), how many kw did you generate this month? We reached 278 kw in N. Lincs.

I think the way he calculates it will be 233kWh for Oct

    Hi

For those who are interested in getting their own panels, I have pasted the FITS earnings for Oct on my Blog. I have changed the monthly graphs so you can see how what we are earning, compares with what was predicted.

Let me know what you think.

    Andy..

    Hi Figures for October were:-

242.47 Kwh here in NE Derbyshire.

and 288.67 Kwh For my colleague Max in Oldham

Are you not a little puzzled why Max with a 4% smaller system(3.84kWp) generated 19% more than your system. Especially when Oldham is quite a few miles North and West of your location.

Different roof angles perhaps? That might also explain Max's lower July figure.

applied via web to ISIS Solar to be considered for the free installation of panwls without initial cost. I've Just got email back from ISIS saying I don't qualify, I have a town house with pitched roof that faces south? They say I need a minimum of 30sq mtrs facing south. How big a house/roof is required. Does this mean only people in larger than normal houses can benefit:

Im sure that other companies do systems smaller than this. Down to 8 or 10 panels...

try homesun or myenergystation as the latter go down to 1.5kw ( 8 panels ) system panel sizes at the moment and fit bigger systems over 4kw as someone previously said

I wouldn't have thought so - not as he had stated:
We have a large almost completely south facing flat roof on our house and so we were told this was almost perfect for this type of installation.

Furndire at roughly the same latitude got 278kWh(from ???? size system)

It might be worth investigating - that's all.

In fact a 'databank' of results might alert owners about a potential problem. For instance what if there was a faulty panel - how can you tell unless you have a baseline to work from.

Thanks to all taking and interest in the site and for all your comments

Couple of point but nothing conclusive.

    1. Trees behind us create shading with a low sun, so comes into play more in the winter.

    2. Max has higher spec Sanyo panels that are more suited to low light conditions.

    3. Lincoln is east coast so is more sunnier than most places.

    4. Pitch on our roof suits high sun better.

    5. Could just be we had less sun in Sheffield last month (lets see).

Would like to set up a data base of data for different places around the country, that's why i keep asking people to send me their stats.

If you have suggestions about what you think would be useful on the site please let me know.

    Andy..

I believe the most important monthly figure for a graph is the kWh generated.

Max's system is only 4% smaller than yours so the comparison is reasonably valid, however for a database you will have 1.44kWp systems upwards. So to compare data on different systems, the kWh per kWp is essential.

    Hi All

Agree with Cardew's post above. The only readily available and consistant comparison baseline which really makes any real sense, considering all of the variables involved, is the estimated generation figures from the PVGIS database.
