I love these vouchers!

That's terrible, can you name and shame the store? You weren't doing anything wrong, it's Tesco policy to accept these. It's just sad sometimes that some cashiers have to be such jobsworths.
The worst I have had was a sour-faced old trout who saw I was with my OH, and he had just bought a pack of socks for a fiver and handed over a £1 Huggies coupon plus the balance in cash. When I then paid for my £3 transaction and handed over another Huggies coupon she scowled and said I was being a bit cheeky, we had just used a coupon and she bet that I didn't even have any young children! How rude, I have 4 and I told her so! And I insisted she scan the coupon as it was a genuinely separate transaction from my OH's purchase.
Funny thing is, that same store is now saying they will accept any valid in-date coupons, so I will look out for her again soon and prepare for some argy-bargy!! She won't like me offering the whole of a £20 bill in coupons!!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

NEWER LEAFLETS + possible loophole:
£1 off £4 on H&B/Toiletries untill 30/09/06. In the 'Choc-a-licious!' leaflet at the cosmetics counter (many around). I believe these have not been mentioned yet!
£1 off £4 on H&B/Toiletries untill 24/09/06. Coupon on a single sheet at CS in the same store! I believe these are the ones mentioned in post #2.
They are the same offer, different leaflets, different barcodes. Both available currently. I believe they may work in combination i.e. £2 off £4 toiletries but when combined with BOGOFS i think it could make £2 off £2 toiletries. Will try to have a go soon and let you know. They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0 -
Hi Guys,
Can I just check something? Can you use these coupons (as I just picked some up in the Durham store) without actually buying the product?? If so, does it work on all coupons?
Sorry if I'm being a bit thick here, I just wanna get a good saving!!!!!
Cheers

These particular coupons are made by Tesco themselves so they will only work in Tesco if you buy the actual product. However you can make huge savings by combining with buy one get one free offers. For example the voucher is £1 off £4 any toiletires. If you buy one £2.05 product on BOGOF (so two items) the till will sub-total £4.10 and the coupon will give you £1 off. The till then seems to take the free item off (£2.05) after the coupon is calculated. So £4.10 (sub total) - £1 (coupon) - £2.05 (for the BOGOF) = £1.05 overall
As for coupons that are made by manufacturers for particular products, like the ones found in newspapers, inside food boxes etc...., these will scan at Tesco and Asda against anything!!! The only problem might be that the staff sometimes don't accept but usually its fine. Knock yourself out!
i.e. They were giving out 20p off PG Tips coupons on the street a few weeks ago. At any supermarket you can give this for 20p off PG Tips. At Tesco/Asda you can get 20p off anything you want! I used mine against a pack of gum.
Hope that helps. They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0 -
got some vouchers today they are the same as the old ones, tried it 2 ways, 1st way worked, 2nd didnt..
first tried this
imperial leather bb £1.48 each bogof
vo5 conditioner £1.94 each bogof
simple bath soak £1.98 each bogof
total £10.80 then became £5.40
discount came off straight away though but still gave my vouchers,
1 x £2.50
1 x £1.00
1 x 50 points
all came off and nothing said
Went back a bit later and bought some clearasil buy 2 for £5.00 twice...none of the vouchers worked and tried them all then got assistant over who added the £2.50 voucher but said that i could only use the one voucher..not sure why none of them worked maybe clearasil wasnt included in toiletries :rolleyes:0 -
