JPanter wrote:A week after I subscribed with Mobile Rainbow the fraud department of my credit card company reported a fraudulent transaction of £950 was made by someone at mobile rainbow on my card. They had received numerous complaints from customers who had been the victims of identity theft straight after giving mobile rainbow their details. MR assured me that the problem would be dealt with. Now my first cash back is due I get this email:-
"We will definitely honour your cash back once everything gets under control.
We request you not to doubt our credentials ,as we are sincere towards our commitments.
We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused."
DO NOT TRUST MOBILE RAINBOW!
Interesting I was a victim of Indentify Fraud just after the phone was ordered from mobile rainbow...hadn't made the connection before but it is definitely possible....
AWFUL AWFUL COMPANY0 -
gonna shot my name into the hat with the fraud, got refunds from cc company and spoke to police but they were struggling to make anything link it together properly, although all the fraud i suffered was in london and the surrounding area's, be intrested to see if anyone else had the same.0

hmmm....happened to me as well....was never a victim of fraud (i'm very careful with PC security) until i signed up for a phone with MR, but my bank's sorted all of that out now and its all in the past. Just wanna get my cashbacks for now
incidentally i saw a post in the HUKD forums and there was a guy with a similar plight0 -
Hi...I have had many probs with MR too...wrong phone being sent to me and that they didnt pass on my pac number to the three when i got my fone so had to pay an extra months line rental. everything got sorted in the end though.
got a few contracts becasue they looked so cheap. regret it now.
Best way to deal with things is to email them, but they do not get back all the time so need persistance. the call centre are a waste of time...they just wind me up like crazy.
They have told me that for cashback they will only accept the original bills...I had lost one (but found it later)...and spoke to three who said that the MR should accept a copy of the bill same as the original...as set in the T&C between MR and 3. may be of use to anyone in a similar predicament.
I have recieved last week my 1st cashback from them...which seems ok...but they have failed to include in the cashback cost of posting the phones back when i recieved them, as they said that they would do...have contacted them and they say they are looking into it...we shall see if they do so.
I would say stay clear and go for an o2 fone instead...their retention team give amazing delas...have stayed for a few years with some amazing deals direct.0 -
Funny that cos last year my credit card was defrauded a few months after signing a new mobile phone contract perhaps just a coincidence but all the spending was around the leeds area.0

no there T&C's changed in october and the ones on there site are nothing like the original one, they have changed the cash back deal for everyone , even where it says Cash Back Policy (Prior to 13 October 2006): that is completely different to the tc's that were on there site before that date, for starters you had 30 days to send in your relivent bill copy is ok aswell , now its you have to send before 15th of month and now copies not allowed and you have to send all previous bills to that claim so for claim 6 now they want bills 1 2 3 4 5 and 6 before it was just bill 6, im sure they cant just half way thru your contract alter there tc's to make it a lot hard to claim, if they can do that whats stopping them from say tomorrow changing there cashback deal to anything they wanted to make it impossible to claim, i want a print off of there previous tc's and will stick to them and if they argue off to court0 -
The t's and c's are at http://www.mobilerainbow.co.uk/terms.asp
Section 10 is worded the same with the exception of:
ORIGINAL: (quoted from the t's and c's that i saved in april 2006)
10.6 All the cash back claims must reach us with in 15 days of the due date mentioned on the cash back voucher through registered post. We will not be liable for any claims lost or misplaced.
NEW:
10.6 All the cash back claims must reach us latest by the 15th day of the month consecutive to the due month printed on the cash back voucher, through registered post. We will not be liable for any claims lost or misplaced.
I have got the original saved as a pdf. if you want it them send me your email address via personal message.0
