  • i'll second that !!!
A banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining and wants it back the minute it begins to rain.
  • :naughty:

£60 and 3 points it is

Gets expensive when you go the wrong side of 100.

Don't ask me twice how I know, but I have learnt my lesson

There was a tail circulating a couple of years back that if you send a cheque for the amount of the fine plus a pound then you will get a refund of the pound. If you don't take this to the bank then the points will not be put on your licence. I suspect this is a load of horse cacky but would love to proved wrong.

  • You seem quite proud of this?

    and quite rightly so IMO.

It is for the Police to prove guilt - not for the accused to just accept potentially flawed evidence.

    And he saved money.

There can be no doubt that speeding fines are cash cows and nothing else.

    :)

There are 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those that don't.

You are forgetting that it is a penalty for breaking the law aswell.

Whether speed cameras and current speed restrictions are right or wrong is a totally different debate, but we all know what the law is and if we break it would should take the punishment on the chin. For the record I have 3 points and I was mightily !!!!!! off. But only at myself.

Must have misread the post. I thought he was suggesting that he WAS going 106mph in a 70 zone, and then boasting because he got off scot free.

Whatever the feelings are about speed cameras, lets put that to one side for a moment. I just get angry when I see an idiot scream past me on the motorway going well beyond the limit....they doubtless believe (against all contrary evidence) that they are in full control and are no less likely to have a crash than if they were going 30 - 40 mph.

Put your own life at risk by all means, but please don't do it with mine or any of the other law abiding, safety conscious, sensible road users. And no disrespect to that poster, but I really hope it's him that ends dying an agonising death in a twisted heap of burning metal rather than one of us, because I take care on the road.

Come on mate, thats bullsiht. It's a completely voluntary fine. THEY CAN ONLY FINE YOU IF YOU BREAK THE LAW. Which part of that do you not understand?

Each road has a designated speed limit. If you stay within it, you will not be fined. If you go over it you will be fined. So the police authorities are to be blamed if you go over the speed limit? How does that work?

ditto. I take full responsibility for acting like a dikchead in a residential area. My fault. I broke the law.

Hey steady on! Dikchead is a bit harsh! :p;) :rotfl:

I'm with you on that one. And we wonder why the kids of today don't want to take responsibility for their actions. What example do we set them?

Look at me, I'm only 25! :rotfl:
