    Just to add -

After drinking solidly all day Fri / Sat, I haven't drank since Saturday night, and haven't wasted any more money since then.

I don't know how, but I am now f'in determined to crack this, before I lose everything. I really don't want to lose my marbles, and the last couple of days I've come close.

    G'night,

    Sim x
  • It sounds awful, but I'm still tempted to ask my Girlfriend is she will help with the remaining £300 (I was going to pay MS £200 over the next 2 weeks), as I just can't see a way out of this. (I feel a right a rse even considering asking her a second time). I would also give her my card / cheque book.

I haven't got the heart to though, as she helped me out of this hole with MS not even a month ago, to the tune of £500 :-/

GF did say only yesterday, that "while she can't help me out financially, she will be 'there for me' and will support me". That is fair enough.

She said she'd "felt like a mug" helping me out before, and for then for me to borrow another £500 from them a few weeks later.

She did follow this up though with "but I realise that's the addiction". She said "You will sort it. It might not be easy. You might not be able to 'wangle your way out of it without consequence, but then why should you?" Took it on the chin.

Aside from this, we've not been getting on at all, and it doesn't help one bit that I owe her a shedload of money. I feel she is very controlling in a few different ways, and it does my swede in. It's all got rather co - dependent :(

Seeing my GP in the morning (minor surgery on my neck - something very trivial really). I don't think I'm even going to bother bringing up the booze, as it will just stress me out, and he isn't that helpful.

I'm seeing the Substance Misuse Team lady next week anyway.

    Take it easy guys,

    Night night x

Sorry if this isn't what you want to hear sim but even thinking about asking your girlfriend for more money at this stage in the game is so wrong on so many levels.

You owe her already and you say she has already told you she can't afford to help you out financially.

I strongly recommend that you call the CCCS about your debt, and avoid taking any more money from your girlfriend. We are not experts on this thread, so I recommend you speak to one.

On the plus side well done for staying sober since saturday, onwards and upwards eh?

Your number one priority has to be staying sober for the forseeable future however you manage it. Because after your previous posts I am worried that you are going to wreck your health, either physically or mentally.

And then your debts will be irrelevant.

So good luck and keep posting. but you need to sort this properly sooner rather than later.

Sorry if all that sounds a bit harsh, it's not intended that way:A

    Good Luck

    Hiya SSG,

    I agree.

It is wrong on so many levels. None of this is fair on my Girlfriend.

Can't think straight, and can't see any way out of any of this.

SSG - I'm sorry I haven't yet replied to your PM.

I will reply to you by PM tomorrow, when my head's a bit less fuzzy.

Sorry to hear you've been going through it.

Are you feeling a bit better tonight / this morning?

    SSG -

I will call the CCCS later on today, and ask them what they think I should do.

Can't switch off from all this.

Probably should just go for a DRO for the sake of my health, but feel I should try and repay it all.

Even if I do go for a DRO, I'll probably be looking at being done for fraud.

    No way out.

    Will call CCCS though, thanks.

    Are you ok?

Sim I am fine and dandy and i have recovered from my antics the other night... a hectic night at work earlier helps to keep me sane!

    And i will be fine:)

I think all this talk about fraud is a little jumping the gun and stressing you out more than necessary.

Why wait till friday anyway, you can go online right now.

Stop worrying yourself into a frenzy, cos at the end of the day if you are going to get done for fraud or not, it's pointless worrying about it till it happens.

Have a cup of tea or something and go online for a bit, watch telly whatever to take your mind off all this, you are only going to drive yourself demented.:)

Don't worry about not replying to my PM (although it's not really good enough:D - joke)

But do do what you know you have to do for your own sanity.......

You will be fine, but you have to calm the fck down and stay sober, and sort things. Make a decision even if it's wrong it's better than tying yourself in knots. And doing nothing.

My financial situation is a bit worrying too re payday loans but i am not worried cos there's always a way.

Well I am a bit worried but you seem to be someone i am unable to compete with in the worrying department.......:p

By the way, don't think you should sell your computer; chances are it's internet and this thread amongst other things keeping you sane. And you can't put a price on that.

    But it's up to you

Night night, I will be up for a bit if you are around.

Great to hear you've recovered. You sound really positive, which is inspiring.

I've emphasised in bold, your wise words SSG! :T

It's been many years that I've struggled with the old anxiety, and it's never nice is it? Feeling anxious has invariably preceded picking up a drink, and I have to break this cycle.

I especially love your attitude of Make a decision even if it's wrong it's better than tying yourself in knots. And doing nothing

So true. I think when I've just felt guilty / overwhelmed, and ended up like a rabbit in the headlights :o

Re the fraud aspect, I can see that I'm probably over worrying, however I think it's just the 'possibility' that is scaring me.

As you rightly say however, if it's going to happen, it's going to happen, and me worrying won't change that.

I'd just like to do my best in preventing it getting that bad! Damage limitation and all that

As for selling my iMac, I agree with you. I'm not going to be selling it.

There were guys on the 'Loans' thread suggesting I sell it. It's a combination of the fact that it's probably not going to sell (in it's present, faulty state) and if I'm honest my not wanting to sell the one thing that is helping me to stay calm and sober (and as they say at AA, my sobriety HAS to come first otherwise everything else will fall by the wayside anyway).

My one overriding thought these last few days, is that I'm going to end up in prison, due to taking the MS loan out fraudulently / even if I go for a DRO, MS will contest it / DRO will be revoked / I'll be investigated by the Official Receiver etc.. Not a nice feeling. I do have to get a grip though.

Hope all is ok with your financial situation too SSG. As you say, "there's always a way" :A

Good on you for your positivity.

Sorry for being such a stresshead.

I'm going to have to get to bed for a few hours at least, or I'll be back to sleeping in the day / being up all night / missing appointments.

Really need to keep my Doctors appt.

    Night night SSG.

    I'll text you tomorrow :)

Tell you what Sim, if you end up in prison I will come and visit you, I will smuggle a nail file inside a cake for you so you will be able to escape, so in the worst case scenario, you will at least be able to get out:rotfl:

But I have to tell you Sim, I really truly honestly don't think you are going to prison:D

That made me smile. I needed that, thanks!

I just keep feeling that all of my past wrongdoings (especially this fraudulent loan situation) are going to come back and bite me on the bum big time.

I'm sure I was Catholic in a previous life..

You can probably see things a bit more clearly than I can though at the moment, so thanks.

    G'night xx

Take it easy and try to get a good sleep, but even a few hours sober is better than a lot of hours drunk.......

Keep posting Sim, I was thinking earlier at work that this thread is a bit like an AA meeting but online, where everyone says what the want to say and provide support for each other, I wonder if anyone would agree?
