Hello and Good Luck GP!
Have just caught up with thread and some of your posts made me think of a Susan Jeffer's quote. It's not about drinking per se but seems kind of relevant because a number of people have talked about the fear of not having alcohol available, of how will they cope, of how will they manage the feelings associated with that fear and lack.
'
'Pushing through fear is less frightening than living with the underlying fear that comes from a feeling of helplessness.'
She's saying that although it is frightening to change and go through the process of change it is ultimately far more painful and frightening to remain in the position we are currently in.
I have to say that I've found committing to the 100 challenge has stooped the bells almost dead for me - a decision has been made, a bit like Lurky's running.
I had the weirdest thought the other day - have been invited to a evening with the other parent's from my child's school year. My first though (and I am not kidding) was, oh dear, better be careful not to make an idiot of myself, don't want to be picking over the events of the previous evening to see if I was too loud or not'... Then of course, I remembered that I am not drinking and I felt the most enormous relief. And it made me realise that it isn't the first time I've had similar thought patterns about a night out.
How dumb is that really when you think about it - To get myself worried about events that hadn't yet happened in case I behaved in an inappropriate way because of drinks I hadn't yet drunk.
Anyway, Jillian Michaels arrived last night (well, her DVD, not the woman herself) so I am off to do my first shred!!! Don't have weights or mat yet but I do have a pair of lycra jogging shorts so I'm sure that'll compensate.
I'll report back laterTrying to keep in budget.

 I should have done a budgiesque post instead of all those bits but I always feel those are reserved for our lovely friend.
Good to hear from you BB. Have a lovely weekend whatever you're doing.
MissP, just wanted to tell you I've joined Slimming World this morning. A bit of a disaster as they'd changed the time from that on the website (so I was very late) but at least I've taken the first step. OH doesn't know yet so that'll be a nice suprise for him when he gets home:D I now need to read the books and see what changes I need to make to shopping/meal planning. Hope all is OK with you and the darling boy. How long before he goes full time?0 -

Anyone wishing to pledge AF just for one night (to give your liver a rest before the weekend ) ?
Can I go for that please Pen? The bells are starting to ring and I'm hoping that the commitment will make them go away, or at least be abit more muffled!0 -

and rightly so!!
I guess you can just do the actions without the weightsa. Makes for an easier workout (i.e. you *may* be able to lift the DVD to put it back in the box aftwards......), but I guess to get the full 'evil witch' effect, you should use weights (VERY light ones) :ANeigh, neigh, and thrice neigh

My god, that was a bit of a killer - considering that it is just 20 minutes it seems pretty effective. My legs feel a wobbly and I'm nice and sweaty (sorry TMI) so I can feel I've done a good bit of work. I reckon it'll really tone you up and make you look better but I don't think the cardio is enough to hit the 'recommended' exercise guideline (I think its 30 mins a day now isn't it?).
I'm really doing it as I have the chance for a bit of a shopping spree in 4 weeks time and I want to get into 12s comfortably - I'm fed up of hovering at the same weight, stuck between sizes and feeling all wobbly. So, I shall worry about the 'healthy' cardio later.
I used tins of beans for the weights - 0.5 kilos each, might see if there are some cheap ones in the exercise shop laterTrying to keep in budget.

I`ll go for a Thursday night alcohol free challenge - count me in - Trasi xxx0
