HB - Check THIS out. I was member for my local one for little while (lots I would have liked to do but couldn't afford babysitter).

HB, I think that's a great idea, but please promise to stop the shredding, surely there must be a warning on the side of the box like 'please shred sensibly' or summat?? You will have leg muscles that no longer work cos they so tight and then when you decide to stop the shred they will go all.....loose?. That can't be right?

We need to start a campaign, cos quite frankly I think you've all gone a bit weird.

RN, what happened in the cricket cos I been out, I do love cricket :) my DS says he's going to be a top class england cricketer, he will keep his old mum in stuff she's accustomed to :D

I have made a decision, & it's nothing to do with alcohol or money saving, but if I don't share it with you lot then lord only knows who'd I'd tell!

I am bone-achingly, depressing lonely in Bear Towers. This is partly why me & Mr ex HB parted company (as it's even harder to be lonely when you're in a relationship yet that person is miles away & doesn't want to be with you or help ease the loneliness). My job demands funny hours so I can't always commit to sociable plans either. So I end up spending time either in the pub with work mates or on my own sofa, which is comfy but not overly good at conversation! :rotfl:

However, I have decided that I'm going to put aside approximiately £10 a week to go out & do something on my own. It might be a trip to the cinema or just a coffee in a nearby cafe, but I need to get out & do things!

Feels a bit more like a commitment now I have written it down & shared with you lot :D

HB - I think that's a great idea too. However I'm not sure it is a good idea to go out and do something you'd normally do with someone else IYKWIM. It can make you feel even lonelier. So I'd suggest something like evening classes, book groups or this looks good www.spiceuk.com. There isn't one in my area or I'd try it.
There's a very active one in London if that's where you are.
    Good luck Hun :)

  • Hi everyone!

I've had a lovely lovely day with a friend, laughing and chatting, having Sunday lunch (bought for me , aren't I lucky!) and walking in the woods on a glorious sunny day. Just fab and it has cheered me up no end!

HB - is there a film club in your area? There is one in my town which I was going to go to, but now I am working evenings I can't go - bah! And it was cheaper than the cinema too. I have also done an art class for beginners in the evenings at our local college - that was great fun and we were all adult "pupils" and it was good value for money.

Decemberbaby's friends who are getting married - DON'T DO IT!!!!!!! LOL, only joking, just because I can't make it work doesn't mean others can't. But I am now cursed with eternal cynicism unfortunately, so you will have to cut me some slack on this issue!

Uni starts again tomorrow - can't wait!

    Hugs to all.

  • Caz - glad you've had a fab day, you deserve it! Walk in the woods sounds fab. And don't get too cynical. My OH was very anti-marriage after his first marriage. But he's the first to admit its better 2nd time round (maybe cos he knows I'll kill him otherwise!:rotfl:)
