Yes, squashed the garlic cloves, mashed the carrots with a fork, crumbled an oxo cube over it all, added a bit of flour, cooked for a minute (stirring all the time) and then added water from carrots/swede I'd cooked.
Then bunged the lot through a strainer into saucepan and simmered for a bit.
    Very tasty!
Have got the left over veg (Carrots/swede/cauli cheese and red cabbage) with a couple of yorkshires and the rest of the gravy for tea tonight.

    Yummmm!!:D

:naughty: still flicking HB. Jo told you that shredding's bad for you, you must be exhausted, give it up!!

I diligently applied myself to buying a paper then reading Jilly Cooper with wine & chocolate, so am in full Shred recovery :rotfl:

We are having slow cooker surprise today. I bunged some soya mince (real one frozen rock solid), carrots, swede, onion, tinned tomatoes and tinned beans with various seasoning into the slow cooker. The surprise will be if it tastes nice.

  • Afternoon all!

Hb - Shredding sounds :eek: Wine, choc and Jilly cooper sounds :j

I feel like I've been shredding myself....but unfortunately think I'm just poorly! Had a real achy arm for a week and now it hurts when I pick things up, no strength in it. AND I think I've got a trapped nerve in my leg! Someone just shoot me please!:rotfl::rotfl:

Kids down this weekend - and have been brilliant. I've been a grumpy so and so...poor Mr P.

Jo - hols plan sounds great. Will be looking at that. We never book a proper holiday so would be good to have something to look forward to and if I can do PAD on it we'll be laughing!:T:D

    Anyway....back to kindergarten Cop....love that film :D

  • Oh Miss P, sounds like you are in the wars. Should you see a doctor, just to be sure you're ok? lildoctor.gif:D

My cheese on toast is really not cutting it when faced with all this food talk :(

Think I need to soak my achy bear self in a bath then see what I can rustle up in the pasta & salad department :)

  • I have made a decision, & it's nothing to do with alcohol or money saving, but if I don't share it with you lot then lord only knows who'd I'd tell!

I am bone-achingly, depressing lonely in Bear Towers. This is partly why me & Mr ex HB parted company (as it's even harder to be lonely when you're in a relationship yet that person is miles away & doesn't want to be with you or help ease the loneliness). My job demands funny hours so I can't always commit to sociable plans either. So I end up spending time either in the pub with work mates or on my own sofa, which is comfy but not overly good at conversation! :rotfl:

However, I have decided that I'm going to put aside approximiately £10 a week to go out & do something on my own. It might be a trip to the cinema or just a coffee in a nearby cafe, but I need to get out & do things!

Feels a bit more like a commitment now I have written it down & shared with you lot :D

I think thats a very good idea HB!! You say you are shredding...why not join a keep fit class or something like that? Or join a pub quiz group?? Or joina reading group???

God, if I had my "single" time again, I would do it SO differently!!!
