  • He's home!!

God, how heart wrenching was THAT though! We all have to wait outside the locked gates and they bring the kids out. Piglets class came out and he was nowhere to be seen (usual horror scenarios running through my head at that point....he's run away...they've lost him etc etc) and then he appears with a TA, holding their hand and crying!! A teacher takes him back inside and I'm wondering what the hell is going on. Without warning I'm in tears!! and the TA dashes over to reassure me he has been fine. Apparently crying cos he left his water bottle behind!! ARGH! Kids!!!

When he came back out he was absolutely fine and is now full of what fun he had.

    Hopefully tomorrow will be better!!!:rotfl::rotfl:

Must be a rough school if they have to have the Territorial Army in there with them   :rotfl:

Glad it was all ok in the end, Miss P :)

  • Good Afternoon Ladies and Gents.

Hope you're all enjoying your Thursday!

All good here, other than agonising backache..

Spent yesterday afternoon in the library. Got my letters posted off to my Substance Misuse Worker, asking for her help with my ESA Appeal Tribunal in two weeks time. Hope to hear from her soon.

Also dropped in my letter to my GP yesterday too, and nipped into town. Felt like I was getting my confidence back for the first time in a long time, without any booze inside me. A great feeling!

Then enjoyed a quiet evening of fish and chips with my Girlfriend.

    Today has been good too.

Was up at a normal hour again - 7am like the last few days :)

Doctor's appointment at 9.40am after cleaning up my kitchen a bit.

Got there early, so I wouldn't be rushing.

Had a cracking good chat with my Doc.

Told him that I'd like to move back into work, but gradually this time as I don't want to get too stressed and end up drinking again.

He agreed that this is the best plan, and he said he was pleased to see me taking responsibility for my own health / not blaming others for my drinking.

Doc is also going to send me a letter of support / proof that I was not well enough to work back in February / since, even though DWP / ATOS so called 'medical expert' said so!

I can then use the letter as evidence, for the Tribunal Service, who will then hopefully not push me suddenly back into work, and will overturn the original decision. to stop my ESA.

They will also if my appeal is successful, fingers crossed, backdate some money - the difference in assessment rate / work related rate ESA - amounting to £700+
Obviously that will help my financial situation immensely, but this will only happen if they accept my Appeal.

So, I now need to put a good letter together, while waiting for the other evidence from my Doc and Substance Misuse Worker.

I also contacted my local Advocacy service, and they're going to assign me someone to come along to the Tribunal with me, who has experience of the procedure.

Very nervous about being grilled about my mental health / drinking problem in two weeks time, but quite positive on the whole.

I also asked my Doc for some anti - depressants, and after a few questions, he has given me some Citalopram 20mg. I'm still in two minds as to whether I want to back on them or not, but I really don't want to get as low as I was ever again.

Was on Effexor (Venlafaxine) back in 2003, until 2006, and haven't taken any anti - depressants since. I've been on a few others (Prozac / Seroxat) years ago too, and wish I could do without them, but I've struggled without for so long, that I think I need to go back on them and keep the black dog at bay.

Am also applying for another job now too :)

Called at the supermarket for my dinner, and had a nice quiet stroll home.

Thought to myself how lovely it is to do normal stuff, feel like I'm slowly getting on top of things, and not shutting myself away any more.

Feels good to be getting my pride back, and to be treating myself a little more kindly (never managed that while drinking).

    Big Hugs to you all,

    Sim xx

    Pretty please :)

Ummm - remember I said I am going to stop job hunting and said that I will stay put and not move? Ummm - I have interview next week about 110 miles away, so if I get the job it means moving. I couldn't have written more perfect job description for myself, it is just question of: if they like me, if I like them, if the location is going to work, if they will support my studies...

Great to hear that piglet enjoyed his first day at school MissP.

You are sounding so good sim. I'm pleased everything is going well for you but surely it's partly because you're so upbeat in yourself? I (fortunately) have no real experience of anti-depressants but if that black dog makes you drink then go for them.

We're now almost 5 hours into the challenge and getting close to bell ringing time for me. I have no intention of drinking tonight, I have no intention of......

:TWell done marru. Is it nearer OH? Good luck.
