  • Hi all

16 AFDs for me, please, DB - sorry I haven't updated you before now.

August is a difficult month for being AF, the bells have started already for me and it's only 14:35. Don't know if I'm going to give into them tonight or not. it's that Bank Holiday weekend feeling.

Have a good day everybody - hope you get your cleaning and tidying done, all the Flyladies!

    bi for now

    Hi all
Just wondering if there is a cutting down/stop smoking thread on here anywhere please?
    I'm struggling :(
    Jen

Ooooh I started that thread back in 2007  good luck Jen :)

Well, you honestly couldn't write it! I got in the library and let the kids loose in the kids department and wandered off down the health aisle to see if there were any books on alcohol liver disease, as you do....and the librarian was putting some brand new books up on the shelf. He only put Allen Carr's (RIP), Easy Way to Control Alcohol book up in front of me, a page had never been turned!!

Grabbed it and sat in the corner of the kids bit for 2 hours, managed to get to page 100. Didn't have my library card with me  so I've hidden it ;) providing it doesn't get found....which it probably will be, I can be there on Tuesday the next time it opens and grab it to read the next 135 pages :D

    Good afternoon all

Hope you're all keeping well, thought I'd pop on to say hi and let you know how I'm doing

Still AF - felt a bit tempted this week but didn't give in

Lifes been a bit up and down for me, not feeling as wholly positive all of the time as usual. Still running which is going well and enjoying this

Meaning I'm on 28 AFD for August and should hit the full monty for the month all being well.

Hope you lot are ok and aren't propping the bar up each night!

Hey Sparkles, so nice to hear from you :) Keep on with running & please keep dropping by ;)

I've rearranged Bear Towers & done more washing - however I have to confess this has been done with the accompaniment of red wine :o

Hmmm...several lifestyle hurdles to overcome for me, methinks...

ps.Jo, nice one at the library :T

    Morning All :hello:

Made it through day 3 :j and also another weekend night :D so 10 AFDs for me please. My body should be clear of alcohol now (?) so staying AF is just a mental battle rather than a chemical one. Looks like I'm going out for a meal Thursday night so this will be my first hurdle. Haven't decided if I will drink or not yet.

Aww thank you sooo much :D and thank you too jo1972 :)
Well the good news is that I have been cutting down over the last week and have smoked just 8 cigarettes in total over 5 days :) Yesterday I truly felt like I was going mental but got through it - promised myself that if I could get through the day then I will reward myself with the one cigarette with a cuppa before bed :) Well I never had the cigarette - was really looking forward to it but by the time bedtime came around I realised I didn't want/feel like it or need it :D Sorry for waffling but so happy about it :) I rewarded myself by giving myself a lovely facial instead - my tongue is turning back a healthy pink colour and the natural blush in my cheeks is returning :)
Thank you for the replies - they were very much appreciated :)
Going to have a look at the giving up smoking thread :) Jo - did you manage to stop?

You wouldn't have recognised me last week as in a bid to cut down outgoings we have sold one of the cars and I have bought a little scooter. So I am now buzzing around wearing a crash helmet. So when I was wooshing round Lowestoft you wouldn't have known it was me :rotfl:

Well done shaggydoo and all else winning :) I hope you don't mind me congratulating you :) I can empathise although my battle has been with the cigarettes for 21 years but I will do it :)
    Good luck :)

The Allen Carr book speaks a lot of sense, I thought I still had my copy but think I sold it.

Knew I was going to drink last night, X Factor and two stellas. Again I know it's not much, it's just the words alcohol dependant I don't like. Just want to be a social drinker at most.
