Poor Kathy. Know I don't really know you but have been quite choked up on your behalf. On one part sadness :( and the other because of the sense of community here - you know that we're all here for you.

    Thinking of you.

Here to report my first NSD of August. Was very happy about this but Kathy's news brought a bit of perspective. Boo.

So sorry to hear about Orphan, Kathy.....at least he didn't suffer, though it must of been a shock to find him. Lots of ((((((huggs)))))) to you. Hope you are not on you own today/tonight??

Right spoon...I got things wrong on Sunday...claimed an NSD, but DH went to Mr Ms!!

Never mind...today was definitely an NSD...been making jam...mixed fruit (red- & black-currants, blueberries and rhubarb...all from the garden, plus cooking apples); then strawberry..added redcurrants to help it set better, but think I boiled it a bit too long...still scrummy though!! :D So now have 14 more jars of jam..for the family and some will be given as C pressies (not saying the word yet!;)). Might go back and get more strawbs and have another go at another batch later in the week. Have loads of more currants in the freezer, as well as cherries, so more jam-making soon!!

I also have to track down some damsons...my boys favourite jam (well, next to strawb. and black-currant)....we had to cut our damson tree down this year...a great shame, though we plan on planting another in the autumn/winter.

So I am still at 1 NSD, but hope to pick up a couple more before the weekend.

Enjoy the rest of the day folks....going to try and get some stitching done...not done any for aaaages :o

Ok, I am going to take the plunge, stop lurking and ask to be put down for 8 NSD this month. I know I know, its a paltry target, but I feel it's best to be realistic lol!

Day 2 for me! Was planning on going out spending in my lunch break and after work but completely messed something up, had to work through lunch and left after the shops had shut!

Must work longer every day!! :D

Kathy - so very sorry about Orphan, but how lovely that he was able to go peacefully, quietly and in the comfort of his home. I honestly believe that his already-departed friend was there for him at the end. Please promise me and the rest of us on here that you will not dwell on the harshness and tactlessness of some human beings and instead concentrate on celebrating Orphan's life.

Still only 1 NSD so far but another one should come along soon, just wait and see!

Hot air ballooning - this is one thing I can claim to have done - it was interesting, but I didn't like the bit when the balloon started leaving the ground - I don't like heights! How crazy is that? That weekend we are do to go away but I will try and teleport myself there on the Saturday in the midst of packing, if you give me the co-ordinates!

This weekend - trowel located, off to town tomorrow to purchase said orange foundation (already going to be a spend day so doesn't matter!) and some classy trackie bottoms, get my hair streaked and pulled back into a Basildon facelift, get my belly button pierced and get a shed load of bling. Stilettos or trainers? Decisions, decisions....
